I have three elastics in my mouth now. Yes, they hurt, but then the pain goes away...until the next adjustment when they change the configuration, add new elastics or just give you a new bag of stronger elastics! then you're back to the starting point... However, wearing them religiously does...

Thanks everyone! since I have this lacing in combination with elastics to correct my midline (a classII on one side, and a classIII on the other side) I guess in this case they just want the front six to move togheter and avoid gaps. It hurts for a few days, then, as usual, you forget... Then, it is...

wire 'powerchain'
Hi, I already commented on that on my braces story, but I post it here to see if I get more feedback. On my last adjustment the ortho laced together all my 6 front teeth with a thin wire that goes around my brackets and wires. I think it is a sort of metal powerchain, or at least that is how it look...

I'm sure in a few days you'll feel much better and comfortable with your braces. I also felt depressed the first days: the initial shock, in combination with the pain and the extreme discomfort for eating all add up and is normal to feel down. Once you get used you will case much less about silly co...

Chose on the basis of the ortho, the convenience and so on. I've got Damons, but it was mainly because with this ortho I could avoid extractions and an expander, and partly also because of a shorter estimate, although I already knew that estimates are just estimates... I'm very happy with the progre...

I had heard about that controversy as well. Indeed, when I had my consultations, one ortho wanted to pull teeth and the one I chose didn't. That's basically why I chose this one, that uses Damon braces. I don't really care about the brackets I have (indeed, at the time I prefered ceramics instead of...

I still have my five laced front teeth a little sore, but it's much better now. I suppose they have laced them together with this thin wire to have them move all at the same time and close some gaps that had opened. They closed in a few hours, especially one between my two front teeth, and man that ...

So I went for another appointment today, and guess what? I got my crossbite elastic back in! :( The ortho said my crossbite has receeded a little bit and he wants me to keep wearing it for the summer... so I'm back to three elastics: one classII, one classIII and a cross elastic  He also put ...

Sometimes I feel like that as well, not with powerchains but with a crossbite elastic. I wore it for 2 months, then he told me to stop wearing it and now I'm back to it again. It's like he took it out too soon :( This particular elastic is not a big deal, but combined with the other 2 I'm wearing it...
