Re: The things we don't realise we do without braces

I've got an underbite that makes me look like a pug dog.. I'm looking forward to being able to bite into anything with my front teeth. It's more of a matter of chuck in and chew now.

Oh, and I also miss tearing Sellotape with my teeth. The simple pleasures in life...!

Re: How long off work?

Did you have double jaw surgery too? It's lovely to see your timings-I though my Ortho was taking the mick when he said my surgery would be 13 months after my braces were put on. (They would be 12, but they won't do my op just before Christmas!) Are you also based in the UK? My schools is about to t...

How long off work?

Hello there, I had my treatment plan posted through today, which details length of treatment and an outline of what I'm having done. It states "you will then be admitted to hospital for an operation on each jaw to be carried out under the same anaesthetic and you are likely to be in hospital fo...

Re: Fear of dental extraction

I had a molar removed in prep for my braces. It doesn't hurt at all, except the wo slight scratches when they put in the anaesthetic jab. There is lots of tugging, and you twisting, which feels strange, but does not hurt. The following day, the area is rather sore, but nothing that lots of ibruprofe...

Re: new addition!

Congratulations! My husband and I would like another baby.. The Ortho told me to get on with it now as I'm due to have surgery between January and July 2014, and they won't operate on me if I've a very young child, nor if I'm pregnant as you can't eat much. Just think, in all the pictures with child...

Re: Angel269's Story

Angel! Just realised it was February and the big month so thought I would come in and look for an update. Your teeth are looking great my lovely. I know the composite bonding is tempting, but it really is a pain in the backside and tends to fly off if you chew a hard sweet. (I had lots before, as a ...

Re: Uk Patients

I'm UK too-but in Devon. I'm getting double jaw surgery, but have no idea when. The first estimate was after 15-18 months of trying to sort my car cash teeth out, but im sure this will change! I've been waiting for them to sort my jaw out since The problems started back in 2004, and I'm ashamed to s...

Re: What is your number?

Well, every time I go and visit the Ortho, he gives me a different time scale. Currently, 12-18 months till surgery, and then 6-12 months post surgery. Losing the will to live already.... When WILL my mouth stop hurting!
