Re: Deep bite correction, from Italy
It'll go by faster than you think! I kinda like the Hawley, pretty easy to deal with and you can drink with them in and such.. the other is like Invisalign, you have to be a bit more careful with them.

Re: Deep bite correction, from Italy
I think you could get the essix if you want, I had the option, but it would have cost more. The wires on my retainers don't bother me. I do notice that I can't bite down all the way with retainers - so it prevents the deep bite from happening again. I do have co-workers that have essix and you can b...

Re: molar buildups
Hmm. Interesting. I found I actually clenched more with braces, never had that issue without them. I still do that with retainers. I never had an issue with my teeth hitting my brackets though. I had my top brackets on for a couple of months before I could even get my bottom braces on. The buildups ...

Re: Deep bite correction, from Italy
Unfortunately, it all just depends on your teeth! You have bottom ceramics -- lucky duck :) I wish I had those! I was stuck with metal. But, I know what you mean.. towards the end of my treatment (it was almost 2yrs), I got not only one, but two powerchains and a ton of elastics! But, if it helps yo...

Hope your time in braces goes by fast!

Re: Hawley and Brushing
Nope, I honestly didn't brush my teeth before wearing them except in the morning/nights. I drank with them in, but even if I wanted to.. I couldn't eat with them in. The ortho stated drinking was fine, but to take them out to eat.

Re: Retainers
I got my retainers a week after I got my braces off (they had to do the whole mold thing again) -- and I don't think my teeth moved significantly without them. I was loving the freedom though of nothing on my teeth!! Anyways, the Hawley's aren't too bad. Did take me a bit to get used to them, I can...

Re: braces-induced tmj?
I did have an issue with clenching with braces that I never had before.. now that they're off, I don't. I do clench from time to time though at night with the retainers..

Re: Gum Grafting Surgery -- AGAIN -- Monday morning
Thanks for posting about this! I remember reading the earlier experience! I just had a gum graft yesterday on my back molar. It wasn't as bad as I thought. Seems like perios have different techniques. Mine cut into the roof of my mouth and took out tissue beneath it, then stitched it back up. It hur...

Re: Deep bite correction, from Italy
Hang in there with the turbos, eventually.. it won't bug you other than the fact that you still have them. I had them for awhile to fix my deep bite and was so happy to get them off.. but in reality, after a bit, I didn't really notice them. You'll be so happy when this is all said and done! I can t...
