Re: How are you cleaning your waterpik?
Splash of sodium hypochlorite bleach into the water reservoir and run it through a cycle. Also make sure you turn it upside and let it run after each use to get rid of all the water inside.

She's possibly just posturing her lower jaw forward. Doesn't look like she has an underbite in the picture where she's smiling .

Seeing the orthodontist a week before surgery would probably be to attach the surgical hooks

Most people don't have symmetrical faces. The NHS will look at functional issues if you start talk about aesthetics you'll just get referred to a psychologist.
Book a consultation with an orthodontist and they may refer you to the maxfac unit.

Re: Double Jaw Surgery - waiting list
I'm on the NHS as well, had the braces on for a few month now. The initial orthodontic preparation will just be up righting all your teeth, they'll get down to the final detail nearer the time. You may not see your surgeon again until the orthodontist think's you're ready for surgery. The two-years ...

Certainly possible to have surgery first in some cases, although I get the impression it's rare.

Tough situation as you've already had the extractions. Have you still got the copy of the contract?
Consult with a Specialist Orthodontist, often a consult is free. You can check if they're a specialist on the GDC website .

Re: Over-impacted upper jaw?
Is there a relationship between moving the upper jaw forward and increased tooth show? I've not any gum show show and they were suggesting impaction with a large movement forward because my midface is underdeveloped.
It's NHS so I'm not sure if aesthetics is their to priority.

Re: What's wrong with my bite?
A general dentist should be able to identify it, your orthodontist would probably be aware of how to deal with it. If you do have one and you don't get it sorted then you'll be prone to relapse.

Re: I believe I have condylar hyperplasia
Most peoples faces are asymmetric if you look long enough you'll see it especially in your own face. You'll only get treated on the NHS if there's a strong medical need, that does include possible future health problems. As your jaw is still growing they may be reluctant to give you surgery at this ...
