Re: Aligners shift slightly on front top teeth with chewies

That's pretty much what mine look like, too. There's always been a slight gap between the tray and my front teeth no matter how much I use the chewies. From what I've read the trays are manufactured that way on purpose so that it doesn't put unnecessary pressure on the edge of the teeth. But if if s...

Re: Aligners shift slightly on front top teeth with chewies

Hm... did you have this problem with the first set of trays or is it just on the second? Do you have power ridges? My ortho said that the power ridges can cause the trays to want to slip down. If it's only been a day or two since you switched I would say to just keep using the chewies a few times a ...

Re: Does the Lisp Ever Go Away?

My first phase of treatment I had a lower lingual arch which is like a wire that runs along the inside of the bottom teeth. I thought it was going to be designed so it was right up against my teeth. I was wrong. It was a few millimeters away so I lisped the whole time with that (got better, but...)....

Re: One week with my aligners!

Ah, yes... fingernails DO help a lot. I just got a shellac manicure... that alone is a godsend when it comes to Invisalign! Ha!

Re: Permanent retainers after treatment complete?

I don't know much about the permanent retainers. I don't think my ortho is a fan, which is fine with me because I was pretty adamant about not getting them (I have no rational reason for this, I just... don't want them!). The impression I've got from the naked tooth forum, though, is that a lot of p...

Re: One week with my aligners!

Congrats on finishing up your first week! I totally appreciate the antsy feeling to switch to a new aligner. That has never gone away for me (and I'm on 21 out of 44)... as soon as my teeth stop aching from a new tray I'm counting down the days until the next one! Don't worry too much about the mino...

Re: Does the Lisp Ever Go Away?

I don't know if it ever TOTALLY goes away. For the most part I don't have an issue, but if I've left my trays out for an hour or more, sometimes I'll notice a bit of a lisp when I put them back in. It's like my mouth reverts back to normal speech and has to relearn how to speak with the trays in, th...

Re: Invisalign Express and Refinements

According to the link below one set of refinements can be ordered with Invisalign Express at an additional cost, but it's not included in the fee like it is for Invisalign Full.

Re: Invisalign for rotation of incisors

Ah... didn't realize that you are across the pond from me! Sounds like you've already met with the most experienced provider in your area and you've gotten some good info from the consult. I took a look at your blog. I'm no dental professional by any stretch of the imagination, but I've looked at lo...

Re: Newbie needing help - Invisalign THEN braces

I had gone to the consult specifically to inquire about Invisalign, but the orthodontist noticed that I had a class II bite that needed to be corrected and said that Invisalign isn't particularly efficient in dealing with that. He suggested I start with Carriere distalizers for 3-6 months, then move...

Re: Newbie needing help - Invisalign THEN braces

I can't speak to your exact situation. My treatment was actually kind of the opposite. They started me in a fixed metal appliance with elastics to correct my bite and then I went into Invisalign after that. It's working for me. But I can speak to the invisibility factor. Seriously, the attachments a...

Re: Invisalign for rotation of incisors

Hello from a fellow (well, former) brass player! If you're at the point of Invisalign or nothing, I'd suggest going to the Invisalign website and finding the orthodontists in your area that have "Elite" or "Premier" status. Yes, this status is largely based purely on the number o...

Re: Anyone's first trays not fit?

Ugh, that stinks! Not sure where you are, but the turn-around on my original trays was 4 weeks from the time I was scanned. Hopefully they can get them to you in a month this time... it's so frustrating when you've decided to finally do something and you end up having all these unexpected delays!

Re: Newbie IA wearer!

I have an overlapping front tooth, but with the other issues being worked on my treatment time is much longer than yours... around 20 months! I've seen some improvement in the overlap, but since there are other things that need to be addressed I still have a ways to go. Sounds like your case is rath...
