I've had to treat chapped lips for most of my adult life. Here are the products I find to be most effective:

Re: What is an elastic above the brackets for?

I see the thing to which you refer and suspect it is the shorter of two arch-wires; likely there to exert extra force on those teeth.

Looks like redundant arch-wires and an elastomer chain.

Re: Lower teeth retracting too much

Trust is a big deal. Perhaps a friendly and honest conversation with your ortho would be productive in terms of (re)establishing trust?

Hopefully it sorts out well for you!

Re: Tooth super sensitive to cold suddenly

My turn: One of the lower right molars became sensitive to cold today. I hope this isn't an indication that the tooth is going south and a root canal will become necessary. Fingers crossed. A new wire was placed on the bottom last Wednesday, so hopefully that's the reason.

Re: Does anyone have pics of how they intrude teeth

Hi, Gia. Brackets can be relocated and arch wire reintroduced to do the work of intruding teeth.

Sorry, no pic, but I think you probably get the picture. :)

Re: Tips for keeping my teeth straight

Good golly, given the cost associated with and discomfort of having braces, I would go for an ounce of prevention versus a pound of cure. Perhaps consult your ortho about it before things go south?
