I second Danielle's answer: These orthodontists know what they're doing.
But, the other side of that is, sometimes we need to know what they're doing, too! It's a good question to write down and ask at your next appointment!

Wow, Flaka! That looks like a big difference between the pictures - just look at that space closing!
Sorry about the headaches. Hopefully they're not too bad.

Re: I would really value your opinion ......

It is very unusual for me to not put my trust in proffessional opinion but this time things just don't feel right :( Hi, Boodles! If things don't feel right, I agree with you that it's a good idea to get more information before making a decision. Are you in a position to look at any other orthodont...

Hmm.
I have an answer but it's only to one of your questions, and it's probably the least helpful one:
Yes. If you still have the sensitivity when it's time to visit the ortho, mention it. And ask if it's anything to worry about!

Hmmph. Looks like all the techs at your ortho's office will have to be warned about your OCD impatience! (I often wonder: do they talk about us when we're not there? What's the water cooler jabber about? 'Ohh, that tpalovik, he's got a killer set of chompers, why's he even here!' 'Tee hee hee, I kno...

Will you let us know how 'pearl' works for you? I was concerned they might stain. 'Course, being the coffee drinker that I am, most of the light colors stain on me. Beachbum, you couldn't have been more right. I'm ten days in, and. . . well, I'll let you judge for yourself with a comparison. Brace ...

jpiper, that's great! Just goes to show that you don't have to spend a fortune (relatively) to get service you're happy with. That's a refreshing idea, these days! :) It just occurred to me: these "v-trim" brushes are actually just normal brushes with tapered point instead of a rectangle-s...

You know what I wish they would invent? I wish they would invent an aersol foam type substance that could be sprayed on the mischevious bracket and would stay put for so many hours? Wouldn't that be awesome! I mean come on? Why hasn't someone come up with that?? Holy cow, that would be awesome! Lik...

Hi, and welcome to the forum! Many of us are avoiding coffee and other staining foods - not just for the brightness of our teeth, but it also becomes noticeable for those of us with ligatures that stain easily. I've cut back and started using a straw when I do indulge. As far as cleaning goes, here'...

But there's a good side to all this: after I floss, my teeth feel like they've made more progress! It feels as though the force of the wires can only overcome so much force, and the teeth can't slide against each other very well. But after I've (strugglingly) slid a piece of floss between the two te...

I agree with Meryaten that you shouldn't wait until you develop a sore. I have been waxing up anytime the irritation begins to bother me, and even so, I can already tell that the tissues inside my mouth are getting tougher where they contact the braces. Here's my approach with the wax: -Wipe the off...

Yep - I have the same trouble with flossing! I'm just 5 days in, and trying to floss is T-I-G-H-T! I tried some of the SuperFloss, which was great for having the stiff end - but my teeth shredded the floss. After some more experimentation, I find that Glide tape and threaders work for my supertight ...
