I get my teeth cleaned every 6 months, I also got a cleaning before I got braces put on. There is a sign at my ortho office that recommends routine checkups with my dentist. The hygienist knows how to clean your teeth with braces on so I wouldn't be too concerned. Some people get more than 2 cleanin...

Just got an adjustment today... they put me back on powerchains and I have class II elastics on the left and triangles on the right front side of the teeth. I don't remember my teeth ever being this sore in a long time! Next adjustment is in 4 weeks. I took 1 aleve, 4 ibuprofen and it has not helped...

I think I know what you mean. That is terrible your orthodontist is not listening to your needs, when I was surfing the net about vertical face thing I came across this ortho's name William M. Hang. There are some reviews on some websites about how he fixed their faces from bad orthos. Maybe he coul...

yj207 , what color did your light blue ligs stain to? I was thinking of getting light blue powerchain at my next appt because of a recommendation from the moderator in a prior posting that they are a good choice. What has been your experience? The light blue ligs faded into some sort of yucky green...

I would just stick with dark color combinations. I tried Dark Blue, Burgundy, even the darker pink and they didn't really change color. The light blue changed after I ate something immediately. I go with silver when the ortho uses metal lig things on a few teeth instead of the regular ones so it doe...

I had my brackets repositioned during my last adjustment. Before he repositioned them they took a panoramic x-ray to see my root placements from the adjustment before that. They had to check to make sure my roots are not touching or something. I'm sure repositioning them will help the leveling proce...

I heard about this somewhere that if you don't swallow properly your teeth will get crooked again after getting your teeth straightened. It has something to do with your tongue pushing your teeth in wrong directions or something when you swallow and that will eventually move your teeth. I only heard...

I heard that brushing immediately after meals is bad for your enamel especially if you ate something acidic. They say wait 30 mins to 1 hour. I would use a very soft bristle toothbrush and not brush too hard as it can damage your gums. I think your enamel gets more damaged from acidic foods such as ...
