Both my lower canines needed to be rotated, about 45 degrees, and I had a similar setup to what you described, with the springs, etc. It took at least four months to get them turned. It was a slow process and one re-rotated after it had been turned and we had to start over on that side. Good luck wi...

I have radiance brackets and they are beautiful (if I do say so myself  ) and Tumble is correct - the brackets don't stain at all but the ligatures definitely do. I agree with Tumble on everything - I never eat curry anymore - it is the worst staining culprit and ruins the look of your ligs im...

Sorry, it was over a year ago so I don't remember which site in particular I looked at. I just googled it and found there were plenty of techniques. Just keep practicing and it should start to feel much more natural. I don't even think about it anymore, and my tongue is even in the proper position o...

I think it is perfectly normal to seek other opinions. It seems like that's what MOST people do - I think it is less common to just go with the first ortho you see. I had consultations with five orthos before I chose mine. Each one had different treatment plans and two said I absolutely, positively ...

I got mine put on when I was 34 and hopefully will have them off before my 36th birthday in April. I had considered them for about 10 years before finally taking the plunge. I had been discouraged because nearly every doctor said I was a surgical case because of issues with my bite. I found an ortho...

My case is different than yours - I started treatment with an overjet and open bite. During consults, I was told by three orthos that they would only work on me as a surgical case. One told me he would have to do extractions but no surgery. And the last consult - the one I went with - said we could ...

I think it depends on your location. Here in Southern California, if you are paying out of pocket (without insurance coverage), jaw surgery can end up costing close to $100,000. This is the primary reason I opted out of it. I couldn't be happier with my results, without surgery, so I have ab...

I did have a similar problem and I hate to tell you, but it turned out a filling had broken and I needed to get it repaired. :( The filling had been sort of between the teeth and since part of it came out, food would get stuck in there and cause the pain. I was able to get it filled again without an...

Yes, I agree with Lela - drop them in the trash. :) I wear mine 24-hours per day and I never reuse them. You'll find when you put a fresh set in they are tighter, so I think they lose their elasticity quickly. I change mine in the morning and every time I brush during the day (after meals, basically).
