How effective is invisalign?

My orthodontist says they offered it for 3 months then stop because they found it to be very ineffective.

What is your experience on this?

I am wondering what are the chewing gum alternative after you have the braces on?

I have a habit of eating chewing gum after I have meal to 'refresh' my mouth. Do you have suggestions the alternative for this after braces?
