Wow this is an interesting topic. I've never had a mouthwash result in stuff, but I haven't used the ones you guys are talking about.

Obviously an ingredient is reacting with the metal (that's my first guess).

Docs, do you have any clue about this stuff?
Should we write to Crest?
What should we do?

I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth out in my early 20s (so it was a long time ago), but I think it's done pretty much the same way today. All 4 of my wisdom teeth were impacted, and some of them were causing me headaches and jaw pain. I was put out for the surgery. I remember being drugged (not gassed) ...

Our pediatric dentist referred us to the ortho to correct my younger daughter's crossbite, even though she is only 8 and hasn't lost many baby teeth. The thinking is: it's better to get the expansion done asap before the palate begins to fuse and the adult teeth begin to come down. You can always as...

Martha,

Was your consult with an orthodontist or a dentist who sometimes does ortho work?

At-home dental scaling

You might want to ask your ortho or your regular dentist to help demonstrate how to use the scaler properly so you don't damage your gums. I wanted to get something like this and my regular dentist talked me out of it -- even though I promised to be a good girl and not get too aggressive with it! :r...

Hey Dodger, one more question.

How did you do your animations (which are fantaistic, BTW)? Others might want to do something like this. Did you need special software or did you use something commonly available?

Generally you can get good results with an "orthodontic-cut" toothbrush. This type of brush has shorter bristles in the middle. When you look at it head-on, the bristles look like a "V" (see my poorly crafted example, below ;-). They aren't especially hard or anything. lll lll ll...

Wow, I'm amazed that it took so long...but good for you for hanging in there! How much longer does your ortho think you'll need to have the braces on after the tooth is in all the way? No doubt, you may need to wear them for a while to ensure that the tooth doesn't retract or anything. Anyway, congr...
