My cordless Waterpik has a Tongue attachment. I only used it once. I don't know how well it really works. But it does shot out a lot of water. On the tongue it does not hurt, I pointed it up at the roof to see how strong it was and it hurt big time on the high setting.

I bought a cordless unit in preparation for braces to be installed in Jan '09. I have the Waterpik Ultra Cordless Dental Water Jet. Battery life is pretty good. But then again, I always recharge it every few days and keep the cord on the wall. It always blast out a bits of food brushing doesn't take...

Your story is much like mine. I’ve always had "wonky" uppers. Didn’t brush that well when I was a little kid. Last time I went to see a dentist was in my early teens. I’m almost 30 now. He kind of belittled me and distilled a fear that still last to this day. He said I could be weari...

I would wait until you can pay at least half of the cost. If you get a job and could save $500/month, you will have your braces in under a year. Don't ruin your credit history by getting the braces now that you can't afford. You'll have a hard time buying a car, renting an apartment, getting credit ...

So I called the FSA company my company uses, they said we don't get the FSA cards. We pay first, submit invoices and they will deposit the funds back in our accounts or send a check. I just went ahead and enrolled for $3,000 the maxium allowed. $250/month. So there's no turning back now.

If your ortho won't take them off, I guess you could always chew on some corn nuts, carmel popcorn, nuts, hard breads, etc to debrace yourself.

I plan on calling the FSA company tomorrow after I go through the paperwork again tonight. Theres a good 60-70 pages just on FSA alone  There is no mention of an FSA credit card. Everything that is written, mentions reimbursement. When you have eligible expenses, you first pay the bills as yo...

I think I can take out the full amount after all...Dependent FSA is one where I would have to wait for the funds to be aquired first. The amount available for reimbursement from your FSA at any time during the calendar year is limited to the total amount you elected to have contributed for that year...

I have a big headache today reading through all of my company's booklet for the FSA, seeing how it works and whats covered. Looks like I'll be reimbursed after I pay but its done electronically and automactially for my dental and FSA company. I still don't get how I will be reimbursed if I pay in fu...

My employer is sneaky. :jokerlaugh: All the enrollment packets, extra mailers, emails, etc list Octoboer 17 as the final date. I log onto the actual company enrollment website where you can make changes and pick plans, due date listed is different. I have until Nov 7  If I set aside the maxi...

Thanks for the tip. I'm going to see if I can still do a late enrollment. Last Friday was the cut off date so its only been a handful of days. I want this FSA badly now. Doing the math, I could save a ton of money.

I work for a large company who has been around for a long time. I think the employees would grumble too much if they ever did change the insurance plans. I've seen a few adults around the office building here with braces.

Hopefully I can claim something on taxes.

Any financial guru's? FSA, savings & braces

My company offers FSA, I have never looked into it and it looks like a good thing to do for braces. My dental insurance (Cigna) will cover 50% cost for adults, I'm 30. It looks like the coverage for any other dental needs are pretty good as well. I'm looking at getting braced in Dec or Jan. I have s...
