My consultation didn't go so well today. Ortho wanted a copy of my xrays. My bones might not be good enough for braces right now.

I'm not going back to the ortho with my xrays. I'll see a periodontist first. Not going to waste my time anymore.

I think my brace options are on hold for now. Came back from a consultation and the ortho was concerned about some movable upper lateral incisors and bone loss. I didn't know my lateral incisors were movable in the first place :? Who knows what else is movable. He wanted a copy of my xrays from my d...

Maybe what you really want is a facelift. I doubt the teeth are going to change much more.

The plaster bandage does look horrible :( But I'm willing to do whatever at this point.

Looks like my copay for a graft if needed is 40%. Not too bad. Deep cleanings are 100% covered. Ortho treatments are 50% :)

I have black triangles with no braces on yet

You already made it this far, just go through with it. Like others have said, they are easy to fix. You can do it right after or wait a while.

I have a deep cleaning on Monday at my dentist's office and a consultation on Wed at an ortho/dental chain. @ wired nana Did the grafting hurt much? I'm freaked out about grafting after watching something on tv about skin grafts for burn victim...

Anyone denied braces due to bad perio?

Last year I wanted to do something about my teeth. I'm 30. Haven't gone to the dentist in over 10 years. After the first visit, my dentist said I had perio, numbers were high and I got deep cleanings, still get the deep cleanings now. I asked if I would be able to get braces and he said no, good bon...

Re: FSA and Taxes

Keep in mind if you do not have an FSA Account you can still take the treatment off your taxes. It will depend on the ded of your Adjusted Gross Income. under medical ded. Just go to the IRS section on medicals and it will give you more information. Chris I'm pretty sure you can't double dip with F...

I am finally getting around to having braces because of the terrible state of our economy. I figure I better do it now while I still have a good job. I’m getting mine at the start of the new year once the FSA kicks in. I’m going to pay for it all upfront so whatever happens, I’ll have decent t...

So I called up my insurance company - Cigna HMO. Turns out 50% is what they will pay for  But I must go to one of their preferred doctors. No, problem, plenty to choose from. I wrote down the prices the rep over the phone stated I should be expected to pay with my coverage. These are my copay...

Getting them all at once is what I would do. I read about people having to come back after a week or so inbetween extractions. I would rather have all the pain at one go.
