Re: ...And they're off!

So you have a permanent upper and lower and then they gave you a removable one too?? That's actually pretty cool. I think I"m only getting permanent lower and removable upper. At least that is what I remember him saying 3 years ago. Yup I have a permanent retainer for both arches...I may need ...

Re: ...And they're off!

Hey there; I'm getting close to the end point myself. Congratulations on crossing the finish line! So the ortho did not tell you to wear retainers during the day? I know my neighbor and my own past experience it was 24/7 first six months then transition to night wear only. Perhaps though I was misi...

...And they're off!

https://imgur.com/a/2s6QTpp After 673 days, my braces came off today! Upper and lower permanent retainers were applied prior to the brackets' removal; the process for that was maybe 10-15 min in duration, but it seemed rather involved and detailed oriented for the tech. The actual bracket removal w...

Re: many consultations later, Suggestion needed

I would pick the orthodontist that you feel like you can develop a good rapport with, and one whom you can trust. Seeing as how both orthodontists’ plans are very similar, practically the same, the difference lies in the orthodontists themselves. Braces and Invisalign aren’t exactly fast processes—t...

Re: And just like that, I have a debracing date!

Everything going as scheduled for you? I had my molds appointment yesterday but it turns out my ortho wants to correct one small detail that was bugging me, so I'm in braces for another almost 2 months. I'm so sad. :( That’s frustrating! Hopefully by the end of the 2 months you’ll be braces free! A...

Re: Damon braces first few days

I got braces on a Friday, had the weekend off and was back to work on Monday (I’m also an RN!). While there were definitely challenges with speaking, it wasn’t too bad for me. Beside, by the end of that first shift, my lisp solved itself!

Re: Tooth super sensitive to cold suddenly

I’ve had random teeth being sensitive throughout my time in braces...and each and every single one of those tooth stopped being sensitive without input from me. Just another normal part of braces I guess!

Re: ok, I've got options. Which way should I go?

There is no archwire or orthodontic appliance that can “crowd” teeth back to their original positions—that’s called relapse and it is dependent on the individual. Sone people’s teeth don’t relapse, and some do, to varying degrees of severity. As for jaw surgery, it is an invasive procedure, and one ...

Re: If braces come off will teeth go back to the way they were?

If you wear your retainers as prescribed by your orthodontist, the risk of your teeth shifting is mitigated.

I feel like there will be a learning curve with retainers! But it will be the next phase in braces and I’m looking forward to it :jump:

And just like that, I have a debracing date!

Today’s appointment was for assessing for debracing...and I’m good to go! Next appointment the braces will come off, permanent retainers will go on, impressions will be made, and I will pick up my Essix retainers the same day! The countdown for Feb 8 is on! (Originally was going to have it off on Fe...

Re: Teeth just don't fit properly

Please don’t clench your teeth together—it’s not good for them. While you’re in braces, your bite is always changing so there will be times where your bite/teeth just don’t fit together comfortably. It’s part of the process. I’m in the homestretch of my journey, and my top left first premolar don’t ...

The difference is the amount of force exerted by the elastics on your teeth.

Thank you so much for your helpful reply, really appreciate your help, I have got some soft chocolate which contains popping candy can I eat chocolate containing popping candy with braces? Thank you!
