I had lower jaw surgery too and was really sensitive to cold around weeks 2-4. My teeth were never sensitive to cold before the surgery and it has since gone away. I think it might be because it was so had to clean my teeth normally afterwards.. I couldn't fit a toothbrush into my mouth or floss for...

I had BSSO 7 weeks ago and for the first two weeks my skin was perfect - the best its been in a long time. Then I started noticing a lot of shine on my chin.. it wasnt really oily though, just shiny, which I thought was just because of the swelling. For the last few weeks, though, I have been gettin...

Good luck with the eating! I lost about 10 pounds in the first week.. I started off at 110 lbs and I'm 5'4 so it was a lot. I stopped losing weight after I found Carnation Instant Breakfast though :) I've only tried the vanilla flavour but it tastes amazing and is pretty easy to drink because its's ...

I am about 5.5 weeks post-op from lower jaw advancement with genio and I have noticed the same thing. There is about a 2 mm difference between the crease of my upper and lower lips and my lower midline is off the that side a bit too. My surgeon never mentioned having to move my jaw to the side thoug...

I had my wisdom teeth pulled before my jaw surgery and braces, but they used the dissolvable sticthes just like for my jaw surgery. Seriously, getting wisdom teeth out is not all that bad-I felt kind of gross for a day or two only. If your having it at the same time as your jaw surgery though I dont...

Rochelle- I was totally freaked out about the surgery until I found out the date.. I was still scared but more in a numb way than an overwhelming emotional way. Then I started to freak out again the day before- which of course is understandable.. The day of the surgery i was so scared about the need...

When they told me i would need the sugery i was 15 too -and I was freaked out more than words can describe- it can be a lot to take in at times especially with sc...

I was told that nail polish was fine as long as it was clear... i think they said that it was because they look at your fingernails to quickly check your blood-oxygen levels.. If they are looking blue, you do not have enough oxygen in your blood- but with colored nail polish on they wouldn't be able...

I tried phoning but apparently my surgeon is doing surgeries today and won't be in the office until tomorrow afternoon.. and the assistants weren't sure either. So I guess I'll just wait until then to find out.

eating post-op..confused

OK so I am currently 2 weeks post-op from BSSO with genio. At my last appointment (3 days ago), my OS took of the really tight bands and switched them for some looser ones :) He said I would be able to have nothing harder than well-cooked pasta or scrambled eggs. BUT before surgery he said that i wo...

I will be 2 weeks post-op tomorrow from a BSSO and genio to fix my MAJOR overjet - SO obviously i am not able to completely see the end result after only 2 weeks. BUT i feel that i can answer most of these even this early on. 1. Was surgery worth it? Even now, i can tell that my bite is near perfect...
