Re: what do/did you hate the most at parts of your treatment?
As the treatment has changed, I have had several things that I hate: 1. Originally, I had a carriere' with elastics pulling my teeth on one side. I hated the carriere' - it rubbed badly on my inside, upper cheek. I spent the whole 4 months with a wad of wax covering it - because of the constant irri...

Am I the only one that looks at my teeth in the mirror - frequently?
I am loving the way my teeth are looking. Now - almost 10 months in my braces - I'm super excited about my teeth. Anyone else look in the mirror at your teeth frequently?

Re: Carriere, Lingual Arch, Ceramic Braces at 58
Today....TODAY....was my latest appointment and wire change. More power chain. A few adjustments and super exciting news! The gap is about closed and now, as the rest of the upper left back teeth are moved into place, my time is shortened. :) He has a plan for next month's appointment (January) AND ...

How are you feeling? Better (I hope!)
I wonder if your teeth were traumatized by all the work and the acceledent. Now that you are finished, your teeth are having to settle in?

Re: 57 and braces again
WOW! Loved reading your story and seeing your photos! Your smile is awesome! How much longer do you have to go? I have ceramic clarity braces (not sure if they are radiance or not but they look like yours). Torinto (above) mentioned being worried about braces and wrinkles? I'm 59 and have great skin...

Re: Carriere, Lingual Arch, Ceramic Braces at 58
Originally it was an 18 month plan including the 4-6 months in the carriere' before braces. But with the extra problems along the way, extracted tooth that wasn't in the plan and now the gap closing - He told me that the timeline is changed. I think he's been waiting to see how long to move the teet...

Re: Carriere, Lingual Arch, Ceramic Braces at 58
Updating - feeling much better although I'm having to use wax continually on all 4 back molar band/brackets. I'm noticing movement based on what my tongue can feel because I can't get a mirror in the top, back spot in my mouth to see the changes. There is movement in those molars, moving towards the...

Re: Underbite & crossbite correct w/Damon, IPR, Acceledent etc
I have said to many people - regarding my braces - that I consider braces to be barbaric - especially for this day and time. I know there is invisalign but those aren't as efficient for the kind of teeth-moving I needed. Someday - it should be a breeze. Until then, it is torture for sure!

Re: Carriere, Lingual Arch, Ceramic Braces at 58
5 days since power chaining and banded back molars. The pain isn't so bad - still can't chew without pain but chewing isn't something that has been easy for me since I started this process. My challenge has been adjusting - again - to having something foreign rubbing up against my cheeks. I'm having...

Re: Carriere, Lingual Arch, Ceramic Braces at 58
Yes - finishing the closing gap is the last thing. It involves bringing my top left back molar forward. (Not sure you knew my story - I had extra bicuspid so with the extra teeth my very back top left molar was way way way way back there, a corner hidden in the jaw/gum. So with the broken bicuspid -...

Re: Carriere, Lingual Arch, Ceramic Braces at 58
Thanks so much! Yes, I've been taking photos regularly. If someone were to find my cell phone, they would wonder "what in the world...??" when they see all the selfies of the teeth. I can go back and see the early photos and I'm so surprised at the progress! Today, I got 4 extra bands on m...

Re: Carriere, Lingual Arch, Ceramic Braces at 58
I've had spacers in place for the last week+. Monday the 4 bands will be put on further back molars. I'm concerned. Took forever to get used to having bands on my bottom - next to last molars and the edges of the arch wire. To move it back further in my mouth seems like a challenge to me. All in all...
