Good decision, Skintz. Anytime one can avoid toxins, it is the right decision. The fact that composite looks better, too, makes it all the better. Fillings aren't to be considered permanent by any means. I think 10-15 years is about all you can expect out of most of them. That's one of the reasons i...

Amalgams contain mercury which is the second most toxic substance on earth. They also have a poorer track record for leaking and when they need to be replaced, more tooth surface must be removed prior to refilling. One dentist commented, and I've never forgotten: "Unless you are REALLY into 're...

I had one for 5 months, that was cemented into my mouth. I found it horrible, but I also have a neuromuscular disease that flared up at the same time, so I had a really tough time with chewing and swallowing and speaking. The relief upon having it removed was indescribable, and it certainly did its ...

I had no problems when my nance plate was removed. The ortho just said be careful with pizza, hot coffee, etc for a few days as the area would burn easier. I didn't need new molar bands. He just sawed off the nance and all was well. Perhaps your new appliance is also attached to molar bands???? Enjoy!

I sign in by putting my left index finger on a small pad that the computer reads and matches with me. Everything is very high tech. However, everyone seems to know me somehow (my daughter is also a patient there) so I don't really feel "like a number" (or fingerprint--heehee.) PS--the musi...

I have the same combo as you do. Have gold ligs on the gold brackets, even. It looks really nice, IMO and yes, they become almost invisible.

ENJOY!

Did it take care of the triangles, Yaya?

I have some issues with that as well, due primarily to hypereruption of upper incisors due to overbite/overjet. I'm too chicken to ask how he's going to address that issue because I'm afraid I'll hear, "Oh, it can't be fixed." LOL

That doesn't really sound excessive to me. Last spring, my quote was $5500 in Texas. I'm sure it's more now as they constantly raise their prices. You can save money, as I did, by paying for the whole thing up front.

In my opinion, yes, you could benefit from braces simply for some "tweaking." I see what you mean about the front teeth (there is crowding throughout the upper arch) and I also think your lowers a little crowded. Your teeth look great now, I can only imagine how STUNNING they'd be if "...

Well, back from ortho. He removed the molar band and space maintainer and did x-rays. He found the teeth above are still too immature without using something to maintain the space in her jaws so she will be getting a trans palatal bar in December. Should be fun.... My dd had no problem with him remo...

My dd is 10, and high level (I've gotten her about 95% recovered after years of hard work). She's already completed Phase I ortho treatment, which involved an expander to create space where she lost a molar prematurely, placement of space maintainer after space was created, and now all deciduous tee...
