Whoohoo, congrats!! Don't be scared to use wax for the first couple of days, at least to mitigate the hamburger-cheeks thing :) I hear you re chewing, I'm not dealing with pain either but I have bite turbos so my teeth don't touch - anywhere LOL. I still managed to down a piece of pizza (took me 45 ...

Emms - thanks so much for the compliments! I keep telling myself it will be worth it :) I too just bought a waterpik, and it's my new best friend :D My teeth aren't really sore, only if I poke at them, so my main problem with eating is that none of my teeth touch, so chewing isn't an option. Right ...

The "no teeth touching" club...

Hi everyone, Since I was the not-so-lucky recipient of bite turbos last week and consequently have no teeth touching, thought I'd see who else out there is also dealing with not having the option to chew? I guess the upside is there isn't any pain! Ha. Anyway, I'd love to hear how others are dealing...

Sounds like you've had quite the journey! Hopefully brackets will help resolve your issues and you can finally be appliance-free :) I've no experience with invisalign, my teeth were too crowded to even consider it, but I did also have the choice between ceramic and metal. I chose metal for a number ...

Congrats!!! I totally know how you feel, I had my braces on last Thurs and panicked pretty hard for the day before and day of :) It was not nearly as bad as I figured it would be, overall.. I took ibuprofen in the morning and again about a half hr before I went to get the hardware installed, and aga...

I hear you acidcookie, I currently have bite turbos on the back of my front teeth, so I have no teeth at all touching... :( I don't really have any helpful advice, just wanted to let you know I'm in the same boat and am stuck with soup & really soft foods too!

I've also been braced for only a few days, and have been fighting with the wax as well - it's not that user-friendly!! LOL I discovered that trying to dry as much as I can with kleenex or such, and applying more wax than I figure I need seems to work better - the bigger the blob, the better it stick...

gracey82, your teeth are looking great - you have a beautiful smile! It doesn't seem gummy at all to me, but I know we look at ourselves closer than anyone else does :)

CB, I really feel for you. You're not whiny, you're expressing your feelings and I think that everyone will hit a low point at least once in the journey. One plus is that there are likely people on the forum in more or less the same position as you and can offer support. Talking about it with people...

Your top arch is looking gorgeous :) I've also apparently got rotation issues (each of my first premolars) - it's really evident with braces now - so I'll be playing the waiting game along with you :?
