Re: I'm afraid my teeth are going to shift back into place

It's possible, but I don't think it's anything your removable retainers can't snap them back into place. You may feel a bit of tightness for sometime, but once your teeth are settled, you'll be fine.

Re: Wide gaps

The initial part of the treatment is to gain space so teeth can be aligned, then gaps closed (with elastics) in the middle part of the treatment towards the end. If you have questions, always ask your ortho.

Re: Life Behind Brackets

You've got to be done soon. Your teeth are perfect. I think you'l be getting good news too. When is your next adjustment? I hope I get good news at my next adjustment, the 24th, in exactly two weeks! There are a few minor things I wish can be corrected but I'm absolutely fine if can't. I went in to...

Re: Getting Your Braces Off For An Occasion

I would imagine it wouldn't set your treatment that far back and I'm sure your ortho would be more than willing to remove your braces for an added cost and at your inconvenience. Always consult your ortho if you're unsure.

Re: Life Behind Brackets

I have a feeling I'll be hearing very good news at my next adjustment. All the excitement and anticipation of the approaching debracing announcement is getting me all hyped up and nervous! For instance, last night's dream woke me up in a clammy and delirious state. I dreamed my upper left central in...

Yes, sensitivity is pretty normal. I found that using Sensodyne helps a lot.

Re: Life Behind Brackets

Wow! This is truly encouraging - if I achieve half the progress you have then I'll be thrilled! Your teeth look incredible - well done to your orthodontist and to you, for looking after the braces so well. Worth waiting a little while longer for debracing to achieve perfection. Excited for you! Tha...

Re: Freaking Out!!!

Since I am so close to debracing, at my last adjustment, my ortho said that in the interim if I'm not satisfied with anything to give him a call. Well, yesterday, I was inspecting my teeth and noticed that a tiny gap had formed on my lower left between my canine and lateral. It's not too noticeable ...

Re: Photo of new brace - opinions please!

My brackets were places very much the same as yours, close to the edge. My ortho did that to intrude, push teeth back into the gums to give the teeth a shorter appearance.

Re: Sometimes when I close my mouth I feel a little pop

I got fizzy pops too during the first few months. I think because teeth are loose and tiny air bubbles get in between the nooks and crannies...so each time we bite down or put pressure on the teeth, those air bubbles pop. That's just my thinking. I can't be sure.
