I had phase one treatment when I was 9 years old, which was back in 1978. I had to wear a removable expander appliance for a couple of months and then I was in the resting phase for a couple of years until the rest of my teeth came in. I only needed upper braces for about 18 months after that. My se...

As far as braces go, it's completely up to you. If your girls are wanting to sport colors, then I would go for the metal. As far as you go, you can be somewhat discrete with upper ceramics. I wore metals when I was 13 and then we didn't have a choice of colors, it was either clear, grey or silver. F...

Congrats on your debanding!!! The only thing I drink when my hawley is in is water. I'm a coffeeholic too!!! I drink so much coffee that when I had my braces placed, I asked for wire ties on my ceramics. When I wore chains, I was in the office inbetween appointments having them changed. Luckily, sin...

Hi Fashion, I love all the terms that your girls have coined!!! What enthusiam!!! BTW, are your girls identical? They're willing to dress the same and want to to dress like them, "love it!!!" If the girls are identical, do they have the same treatment plan? Are you all getting the same kin...

I totally understand where you're coming from been there done that. Us twinmoms need to stick together! I'm sure that they'll be just fine. They're going to have more discomfort than pain. Went through my first round of braces 28 years ago and I don't remember it being that bad. Honestly it was much...

I didn't have spacers, but when the pain was bad I took 800mg ibuprofen (rx strength). For the twins 400mg motrin will be good. I would take this an hour before your appointment and every 6-8 hours after as needed.

Good luck tomorrow.

I had a silver powerchain placed on my ceramics and I hated it! I only did it because I was a coffee drinker. I went in to get it changed to clear and for about 9 months while I was wearing clear powerchains, I was in the office inbetween appointments getting them changed and the staff was really ni...

I have a lower bonded retainer and it's a pain to floss. I like glide floss threaders. I just cut the threader part on an angle and seem to do just find. A floss threader works well too.

Good luck!

I had molds done 5 weeks prior to my debanding date. I have an upper hawley retainer, but the assistant removed my powerchains and did the impression and then I brushed my teeth and she replaced the chains. The model was sent to a lab in which they remove the braces off the model and mold the retain...

Hi Fashion, I was braced for the second time 3 months shy of my 40th birthday. I'm a mom of three and my 12 year old is due to start treatment within the next 6-9 months, but my 7 year old twin girls thought that my braces were cool!!! If your ortho feels that treatment is recommended, I say go for ...

Hi Jenny,

Isn't that a beautiful thing that you only have to wear them at night!!! My ortho does the same thing. I have an upper hawley and lower permanent retainer. It's nice to be able to drink coffee all day long when needed...LOL!!!

Have a great day!!
