Absolutely okay! And, actually, chewing will help the soreness pass more quickly.

In the beginning, my adjustments were anywhere from 6 to 10 weeks apart depending on what was being done. When I hit the 18 month mark, I went in about every 4 weeks and towards the end when she was tweaking things, I'd come in every 1-2 weeks.

I think it is because this is, essentially, a support forum and society influences women to be much more expressive with their feelings/worries/etc than men. If women are worried about something, they will express it and seek out advice; men are much more likely to just keep it inside and 'tough it ...

Oh, and this too! When I used my Essix, it definitely came out streaky. When I used the whitening trays that my dentist made for me, with was much more even.

Oh definitely! Our old hang ups tend to follow us around for a while, even after we've fixed things. It becomes so ingrained that it can be hard to let go. Even though my teeth are traight now and the braces are off, sometimes I still put my hand up in front of my mouth when I laugh and I will try t...

That's probably your old hang up talking. Your teeth don't look bunny-like at all too me! And personally, I think it looks cute when the front teeth are a little longer than the one next to them. For example, Yvonne Strahovski (she plays Sarah on 'Chuck'): http://www.sliceofscifi.com/wp-content/uplo...

Why shave them down? The front two teeth typically are slightly longer than the incisors next to them.

Your teeth look great! Congrats!

I used my Essix retainer for whitening and, let me tell you: Don't do it. I repeat, DON'T do it! It burned the HELL out of my gums (and my whitening gel is only 15%) to the point where they bled in some spots. It took a while for my gums to feel good again. Getting a custom tray shouldn't cost you h...

Your smile looks great! Really, really fantastic and beautiful!

So how did it go? How do you like having them off? Isn't it nice to just eat stuff without it all getting stuck in your braces!

CONGRATULATIONS!!

A lot of it is the illusion the braces create on translucent teeth. My teeth looked really yellow while I was in braces. However, when I got them off I was startled to see how white they actually were. I'm still planning to do a little bit of whitening but I don't need to do anywhere near as much as...

The sight of blood or a gaping wound doesn't bother me but I cannot -- CANNOT -- watch people get the wounds. Like, I had to hide my eyes watching Nip/Tuck because I couldn't stand seeing the knife cut skin. I also can't watch videos of people getting hurt -- like those Funniest Home Videos of peopl...

Haha! Let's see if you can get any sleep tonight. I think I got maybe two hours of rest the night before my braces came off. At times, I could have sworn that the clock was moving backwards!

I got my lower bonded retainer at my debracing. My upper Hawley was ready for me then too (I had impressions a week earlier and my dentist placed and adjusted my Hawley later that same day after he did an extraction and fitted me with a temp bridge). My clear retainers I received the day after my de...
