I prefer to think that you can travel through time. That is a lot neater than a typo!

;)

Welcome!

Holy moly! The correction of your overbite is coming along FABULOUSLY! I hope when I finally get braced that I will see that kind of improvement as quickly as you did. You must be so excited!

I'm a big weenie too although, apparently, I have a pretty high threshold for pain. If I think something should be hurting, I am the biggest baby on the planet but I can't tell you how many times I've been to the doctor for something random and they'll be like 'But what about this other thing!? HOW ...

I'm in a similar boat: I have an impacted upper-left canine. I just had 3d x-rays so the orthodontist will be able to see the precise location of the tooth; I have a phone appointment on April 1st to discuss what can/should be done. My options are: 1: Expose it and pull it down into place 2: Extract...

For 18-24 month treatment, this is what I have been quoted:

$5830 for Damon 3 braces
$600 for the retainer

for a total of:

$6430

I live in Los Angeles so I guess that counts as a big city!

I don't think I have any aesthetic insecurities about braces that would make me reluctant to return to work the same day. I've already told the people on my team that I'm getting them and, actually, my boss is considering getting braces as well (she had been thinking about it for a while but once sh...

Ha! Waiting is evil. I find myself trying to will time to pass faster. It's so funny because as a child, it seemed as if time passed soooo sloooooowly but the older I get, the more quickly the days/months/years fly by. Until now. Now that I am looking forward to something, it's as if I have regresse...

Yeah, I suspected that it might have been asked before as it seems to be a standard 'What can I expect?' question but, alas, my search turned up nothing! Being braced on a Friday seems to be a good idea. I don't know if my orthodontist has after 6p hours so maybe I will just take a half day and have...

Brace Day Question

This is probably a bit premature as I don't even have a brace day set yet but I'm asking anyway: the day I get my braces put on, should I take that day off from work? Or would I be okay to go in to work afterwards? I'm a web designer so I basically just sit at a desk all day; nothing strenuous to wo...

Can we please stop with the personal attacks and name calling? Pretty please? There are ways to debate opposing viewpoints without resorting to insults.

ps: Saying 'so-and-so started it' is not a valid excuse.

If my orthodontist couldn't keep track of my age (maybe not down to the year but at least have a general idea of my age range -- teenager, 20s, 30s, etc), I would have to assume that they are out of touch with my file. What else are they not remembering? Do they have me confused with another patient...

Turning around and saying, "yes, I look so bad in braces that it's no wonder that bloke wasn't interested in me," is to give said bloke power to make you miserable, erode your self-esteem, and let you forget all the positives about yourself. See, and I personally think that is making a great leap i...
