Did your ortho give you a bite wafer? I know it sounds odd to put pressure on your teeth when they're hurting, but biting on that wafer will help tremendously. It stimulates blood flow to the area and actually helps relieve the soreness.

A year or two in braces is totally worth the 20, 30, 50 years you'll have with a beautiful smile.

You can find it at any health food or vitamin store. You can get a small bottle for about $5 and it lasts forever. Hope it helps you!

The best thing ever for cold sores is jojoba oil. As soon as I feel that tingle I dab some on and it stops it from forming.

I'm probably one of the few that prefer manual toothbrushes. They just work a little better for me. Maybe I haven't found the right electric one yet

Psychout is probably right. I am a graphic designer so I don't have to talk much if I don't want to. I guess I'll just see how it goes as far as when I return to work.

Okay...I think I've found the absolute best brush...ever.

I found it at Target and the brand name is "Preserve". The brush is oh-so-soft and the handle is angled perfectly to reach everywhere. I absolutely love it. My next trip to Target I'm stocking up!

I think it's pretty common for a bracket to come off sometimes during the first few days. It probably didn't bond well initially. The ortho should just be able to put another bracket on quickly enough. Usually orthos have space set aside for these unexpected type of visits, so hopefully he'll be abl...

This afternoon it started swelling and getting sore. I guess I'll have to call for some antibiotics tomorrow. Dang it. I shouldn't have put it off for so long. Come on 25th. (I never thought I'd hear myself say that!) :?
