Well didn't you start off with some lovely teeth and great jaws?! I'm jealous of your pre-treatment pics! Well they look great and don't seem like they'd have to be braced for 2 full years. Don't worry about what you look like with braces, most people won't notice or they'll probably ask a couple qu...

I didn't have any problems or pain when they used the little sandpaper file thing and did it manually. It just felt weird, and sounded funny in my head. I did feel some sensitivity when another time, a disk sander was used but it was mainly the heat from the disk heating up my teeth. There was no se...

I was told my treatment time would be 3 years to 3 1/2 years and I could choose metal or clear. I am almost at 2 years, other than a few bracket snafoos with both clear and metal, I have had a possible debanding appointment for the past 2-3 months. My ortho has been in practice since 1982 but he did...

I have had extraction gaps, but my teeth were pulled back due to double protrusion. They gaps actually closed up faster than I thought. Take a look at my link and you can see my gap closing progress. They've been closed and am just working on my midline. It has been 22 months and I don't mind going ...

I had my premolars out all at once. There wasn't any pain since the local was enough to numb it. I worked for a few hours and went home. The sutures were a bit sore and I needed vicodin or codeine for a couple days. Then I was back to motrin and once the sutures fell out, I was pain free and feeling...

I'm nearing the end of my treatment and I still get excited over any little movement. My midline shifted half of a hair. My bite is just a little bit tighter. Small things can't go unnoticed, every bit of movement makes up our treatment.

I'm a sucker for mustard, kraut and chili dogs... You'll be sure I'm at the ortho's getting my ligs changed the next day. Greasy red sauces from Mexican foods also do the trick, but I love my enchiladas and burritos with red sauce. Soy sauce will also make your ligs a wonderful yellow, it goes great...

Sometimes the ortho will even the incisors with a little shaping (shaving them down with a sanding disk) or some will just leave that up to your cosmetic dentist. Mine just plans on leaving it.
