Ugh! Back four sets? Gee, I hope that doesn't happen cause I only save the last set and then throw the others away!! Do you go back each set and then wear them again? Hmm, I have slacked off lately about the amount of hours I'm wearing them, I'd say a a bit less than 20 hours a day. Guess I could t...

Re: Not a "success" quite yet

Well, like others on here it seems my case won't be a considered a complete "as scheduled" success. Right now I'm on 12 of 13 on the bottom and 12 of 19 on the top. There's still quite a few to go on the bottom so I guess we can't speculate too much there, but the the top is definitely NOT going to...

Dr. Mullen: Definitive word on smoking and invisalign?

I am finding it verrrry hard to quit. I had to go back five sets of aligners recently, and I thought it was because I was smoking but I absolutely wasn't wearing them enough (I know that now that I'm really wearing them 22 hours a day). I know I have to quit smoking anyway but I wonder if it's true ...

Now I'm wearing them 22 hours a day - I probably was wearing them 20 hours a day before. It felt like I was wearing them enough before...but now that I'm really wearing them 22 hours a day I see I wasn't! Like I have already had them off for an hour for sunday morning coffee so now I only get 1/2 ho...

Do you use aligner chewies?

I moved, switched orthos, and have to go back from aligner 15 to aligner 11. I didn't use the chewies regularly until switching to the new ortho - my old ortho didn't stress the importance of them (he gave me a pack and said to chew a few times the first day of the new aligner). My new ortho thinks ...

I would have though that if they wanted you to go backward, you would have regressed backward and then started again. For instance, instead of going from #9 directly to #5, why wouldn't you go 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9...? I mean, isn't the reason that we can't skip directly from #1 to #10 because ...

Me too!

This just happened to me today!     I got bumped back from aligner 15 to aligner 12. I knew 15 was messed up. I moved and switched orthos right after aligner 11 and didn't have an appointment with the new doctor until today - I probably wasn't wearing them enough...and ...

Heh - I never speak the work speak anymore - I "talk"

Re: lisping

I have conceded to the fact that I will lisp as long as I have the aligners. Even when I have become used to a set, I still lisp and it is noticeable. When I put in new ones, it's really bad. Anyone else? I'm on my third set. Some sets are worse than others for some reason. I started 12 today and I...

You can move/switch orthos with Invisalign - I did

I had to move out of state for another job right in the middle of my treatment, and I thought I should post about it because it's less stressful than I thought it was going to be. My first ortho was a premier provider, and I wanted to make sure I'd go to an ortho in the new state. I called around to...

moving and need new ortho, oh no

has anyone switched in the middle of treatment? I'm moving to N.C. from FL. The ortho I'd like to go with in NC didn't call me back...am freaking out...I have to finish treatment, I'm not even 1/2 way through! I don't know how this is going to work since the first ortho was paid in full and I am fin...

I think I'm at 20. I'm a slow mover in the morning and for two hours I have them off while I drink coffee and get ready. Usually off for an hour for lunch and then at night for dinner. I seem to be making good progress, but I know I should wear them for 22....

I drink anything with them in (although I've never tried red wine since I prefer white anyway). But I'll drink diet coke and rum or whiskey and they are fine. I really don't think the plastic stains at all. Just think....if you buy a 20oz bottle of coke, is the plastic bottle it comes in stained br...

It happened to me at work while I was talking to my boss.  :?

I think it does

I'm not totally sure that mine is gone, but I'd say it's 98% - I do have to concentrate more on preventing it. You'll quickly find ways to adapt to the aligners so you can make a good "S". The problem I'm struggling with is really bad dry mouth from these things! I have water with me at all times, o...
