invisalign is my nightmare

So, my orthodontist - the one I switched to when I moved to another state - has sent me back several sets of aligners twice, the last time because my upper left canine wasn't moving. Well it's still not moving. This orthodontist spends no more than 10 minutes with me because the place is overbooked,...

do NOT leave them out...

oh man, I can't imagine forgetting about these - I'm so sick of them already they are constantly on my mind, especially since I had to jump back in aligners twice already. The first time because I wasn't wearing them enough. The second time (I think) because I wasn't using the aligner chewies enough...

what im really wondering is that the ortho and invisalign always tell you never to skip trays or wear them less then the two weeks because it does not give you bone enough time to heal..so how is it possible to go back so many trays all at once? why not go down each tray every two weeks until they ...

can u just not wear them over a longer period of time 3 or 4 weeks instead of 2 because u r on a lot lower number of trays than average I wonder...I should ask - I just put aligner 14 back in and it doesn't fit, because the sides of my teeth are way beyond aligner 14! I am really starting to wonder...

LOL, love the dancing banana guy  more rant: my teeth are just not moving. My ortho sent me back four sets of aligners, from 18 to 14. This is the second time I've had to go back. I sorta had a meltdown in the office. I think this just isn't working, I should have gotten ceramic braces and I do...

Last aligner and teeth not straight :(

I just need to vent. I'm on my last top aligner (18 of 18) and my teeth are nowhere near finished. They're better, but not even close to done. My eye tooth simply won't move and the front two are still angled inward. Now I wonder if they ever will move. I have an ortho appt today so I hope we do mol...

I think it is normal to take less time, though mine is going to take at least as long - my tops are supposed to be done in 2 1/2 weeks, and there is NO WAY they are going to be done :( As far as eating - you really need to wear the aligners for 21-22 hours a day. If not they just won't work - I had ...

Well I changed because I moved, but I can tell you a little bit about the fees - most of the cost of invisalign is up front, so what happened was my original ortho issued me a refund for the balance of treatment that they weren't going to do, and my new ortho is charging me $150 per month. I don't k...

Anne I love your blog! Wow, your teeth look awesome. My ortho is planning on giving me a fixed retainer on the bottom, and a regular retainer with wire in front (Hawley?) that he says I'll only need to wear at night. I'm kind of concerned though about that becaues it seems like everyone else gets th...

I think it varies from aligner to aligner. Last week I put in 16 of 18 on the top and MAN did that hurt for a couple of days - even in my nose! I had a ton of pressure on the front teeth which I hadn't had up to that point, but I was actually happy about it because those hadn't moved very much previ...

Dill, you say you're going to sit down with your dentist rather than an ortho - I think that's a mistake. If I were you, at this point I'd set up a consultation with a different orthodontist and preferably an invisalign premier provider. Your dentist may be great but this is an orthodontia issue. So...

Yup, just freedent - though maybe trident would do the same thing. One of the "doesn't stick to dental work" brands.

Note: when you first start chewing it, it seems like it sticks a little, but then it loosens up.

Gum is good for invisalign! (some kinds)

During my last ortho visit, my ortho (who I adore and is really invisalign-experienced) told me to chew freedent gum for an hour each day. He said some patients of his have been doing that and it really stimulated tooth movement and seated the aligners well. I decided to do it on the 2nd day of alig...

I considered them and went for a consultation with one of the top NYC guys (forgot his name) - but they cost a fortune, and you have to redo them in 10 years. I'm glad I decided not to get them because I would have needed 10 of them. Invisalign is ultimately cheaper. Veneers look great if they're do...
