Thanks for the advice edinburger!My ortho is a very kind man but not so careful!.He has clipped me on numerous occasions with scissors so i am already expecting him to be a little rough. I am thinking of telling him my jaw is sore so he wont just yank it open....He is also changing my bottom archwir...

Thanks karl..i knew someone could help me..Its been 19 days and i have another 8 days until this bloody splint comes out.Oh and i am sure that the ortho will get a nasty surprise when 4 weeks of food particles go flying all over the place withit...LOL This splint is yuk...oh how i wish elastics were...

might sound silly but....

How does the splint come out...?I Had my surgery 2 weeks ago and have a splint-the ortho is taking this out next week.I was just wondering as i thought it was wired onto my braces some how but i can feel little screws at the base of my teeth in the skin.does it hurt when they take it out...? :?

hi i had bsso and genio 2 weeks ago-it terms of recovery everyones different.However i can tell you i have had 3 children all which were over 8 9oz and compared to this jaw surgery is a walk in the park... :D .

Welcome to the other side mannab271...congrats on getting the surgery out the way... The first week is the worse-theres no denying it.Are you banded shut? for me that was the worse not being able to talk properly or eat properly.However after the first week things do get better,swelling recedes alit...

Hi i am 13 days post op and last night i slept on my side -i tried it a couple of days ago but felt nervous about laying on my jaw.Well last night i slept on my right side for half the night and the left for the remaining part of the night.Woke up perfectly fine this morning-with no aches-ah a good ...
