Bellita: I use the disposable cups to rinse and mix my salt water rinses in. Smiley: As far as toothbrushes go I AM OCD : :) . I currently have: Sonicare (home), (2 )battery operated toothbrush (office/home), Water pik and regular toothbrushes (home, office, purse, car and travel bag). Needless to s...

A: I am not going to laugh at your self proclaimed obsessive behaviors. We all have at least one. Although I keep my items in a basket, I am very particular about making sure my toothbrushes are covered at all times. The thought of bathroom "germs" getting on something that goes in my mouth sickens ...

I keep my supplies in a cute basket. The waterpik, Sonicare and bottle(s) of mouthwash sit on the counter along with my disposable cups. It sounds like a lot but there is plenty of room on the vanity so it doesn't look messy. P.S. - I keep all this stuff in the guest bathroom instead of the master b...

Congrats on the removal!!! Try not to worry too much about your gums. If it doesn't get better it can be fixed. My gums are very healthy, but I have 4 very "puffy" looking areas (both sides of 2 teeth) which actually come down below the bracket. It is not painful, but I don't like it. My Ortho says ...

Wow! Sorry to hear you are having such a rotten time. What does your contract say about treatment length, extra fees, etc?? Since your ortho insurance will pay, you might be better off finishing your treatment with another ortho. Maybe you should check around and see what can be worked out. Good Luck!

Good for you Elle! I am sorry to hear your first Ortho turned out to be a real "Dud". If you think you will be unhappy with the ceramics he offers go for all metal (unless he strongly suggest you don't). Most people won't care or notice and after a short period of time you won't care either. Have yo...

Elle: I can tell you wrote this post in the hopes of getting support from fellow wearers. I hope to do just that. Altnough we were able to get "used " to and even like our brackets I respect the fact that it may not happen for you. However, I hope you will give it a little time. I am glad I did. Eit...

Comfort covers for braces
Has anyone tried the comfort covers for braces now available at DentaKit.com? I just got mine in the mail today. I think they may be workable once I get used to them. It will take some time to get them cut down to where they feel right. I liked the way they made my brackets feel smooth. However, I m...

Use all the wax you need. I go for days without using it and then I have to "hit the wax" again :P . I made the mistake of trying to be tough and ended up with a oral sore - not good! I try to remember to get wax at the ortho each time I go. I keep some on the night stand, in my purse, in the bathro...

Emmy: I know your pain :soremouth: I have had it happen 3 (yes 3 times). Twice the assistant could not get it out and the Ortho had to "dig" it out. Yes, it HURT!!! I am so glad I am through with spacers. The advice about rinsing with peroxide is good. Also, warm "very weak" salt water rinses help. ...
