meryaten: Thanks for the info. I should have been more clear about the 1mm. I meant I may be about 1 mm over the norm (approximately 3 mm). I was happy with that scenario.

I am very thankful that I had not had any previous exractions to further complicate my case.

I am curious why did you have to go the surgery route in order to fix your overbite? Does it make it quicker or did you have other reasons?? Also was that the only way to completely fix your overbite?
