Congrats on seeing the finish line. I too wanted to get my teeth whitened right after my braces came off. The surgery and 6 weeks with a splint had made them "gross". My ortho wanted me to wait at least a month for the gum tissue to return to normal. I definately saw a change in gum tissue after my ...

I would suggest gettting it done. I think you'd be pleased with the results. It turned out better than I could have imagined. If I knew it would have produced that type of result I would have done it much earlier :D Good luck and let me know if your dentist thinks the bleaching needs to be periodica...

Hi- I got kicked in the mouth as a kid and over the years my left front tooth also became very discolored. Before getting my braces I had a root canal done and internal bleaching. The root canal was not painful, actually an easy root canal compared to one done on a molar where there are multiple roo...

Interesting issue. I had an anterior open bite that was corrected with upper and lower jaw surgery. I remember being thrilled that my bite was closed after surgery but also wishing I had more overlap in my front teeth. I thought the same thing, my ortho will pull the top teeth down....nope he furher...

I was the lucky one who had genio covered by insurance. I actually paid for it upfront but my surgeon's office said they would sumbit it and see what happened. It was totally my luck that my insurance did cover it. I feel very lucky. My upper and lower was preapproved before surgery and I still thin...

Hi Phil- After my surgery I also had a lot of numbness on one side up near my eye. It was definately weird feeling and I was concerned. I remember it lasted for a little over a week and then faded pretty rapidly. Hopefully you'll see the same. Also, the side with that numbness had a screw that was p...

Clo- I'm sorry to see this latest post. I remembered that around early December you were supposed to get this appliance and I was wondering how it was going. Is that as far as you can bite down? I can imagine that it would be painful on your jaw due to the angle. Do you have any idea what you might ...

I had one final appointment with my surgeon yesterday. I explained to him that I still had a little numbness on one side of my lower lip and chin but that after 18 months I still feel it improving (although slowly). He said it could take up to three years and if it is getting better it will likely g...

I did have a $350 retention fee (for 3 years of check-ups) but , in my opinion, the cost of treatment was comparable to other orthos in the area (if not a little cheaper) with the retainer fee factored in. As far as the retention package, it does seem odd to me. Although I am in the minority here, I...
