Haaa, yes on the don't overdo it....just woke up from a 2 hour nap after riding today and mowing a very small back yard. My surgeon said the trainer was fine as long as I don't "bust" it. No outside riding for 8 weeks though because of the chance of falling and just plain old bumps in roads. I reall...

Hi There- I'm a university professor and after having taught Summer term 1, I am off until August 15. That gives me one month to recover. Returning to work for me though requires projecting my voice. Right now with the swelling, bands and splint I can barely talk at all. I think my body would be rea...

Hello- I had upper and lower jaw surgery and genioplasty one week ago today. For me there have been periods of aching pain but as long as I stay on the pain meds it is tolerable. I thought I was ready to come off them on Tues-Wed and started decreasing the dose. I found I wasn't ready to do without ...

Yes, the headaches continue to be a problem. I have a theory though, it is so hard to injest things right now and I'm undercaffienated!!!!!! Sorry to say I think it might be too little caffeine. They don't seem to be sinus headaches but rather located in the back of the head (lower head area). I hav...

Hello- We had nearly the same procedure, you one or two days earlier I believe. My surgery was last Thursday. I just had an open bite surgically corrected with upper and lower jaw surgery. I had a large overjet/overbite as a kid. I also had braces as a teen. I believe the open bite was there at that point but surgery wasn't the option it is today so they tried to correct it with braces alone. The result end...

My surgical hooks were actually gold and bonded to the archwires. After the archwires were put into place the hooks were bent in toward my gums. I didn't find them painful at all, my mouth simply felt larger. I did not have wire hooks though. Lunch would be very doable. For your significant other......

Last night was the best night I've had since returning home. I actually slept from 10:30- 3:30, got up for medication and then fell alsleep again until 6:00. Each night after surgery except last night I had woken up with a horrible headache. Did anyone else have this? It was so weird to have this ev...

Hello- Thanks for the thoughts on speech and the lip issue. Right now my mouth is very sore with my chin and most of my lower lip totally numb. My upper lip seems fine. I have been regaining "tingling" in the effected surgical area over the last several days but still alot of numbness. Alot was done...
