A few weeks before surgery i had my archwire changed to what my ortho described as a passive wire, i guessed at the time that this meant it was holding my teeth in place firmly but not moving them, if that makes sense? Just wanted to clear up my flying comment, i wasnt saying you shouldnt fly for 11 weeks was just meaning that i did fly after 11 weeks and everything was fine, even tho i was still having problems at this stage.

I had those hooks and the only time i had elastics was post surgery for about 4 months. (then they put on extra hooks so didnt use the ones on the braces anyway!)

They did use the little hooks for powerchains during my treatment tho.
