Danbury/Bethel CT area??

Was wondering if anyone in this part of CT could tell me if they had an exceptional dentist and/or ortho, as I'm new to the area. Thanks.

Just keep up w/the flossing and brushing to keep the plaque & tartar away! Your next cleaning will probably be ALOT faster and easier, too. :)

I agree with erik and the others who say to brush WITH them & setting a good example... a small token gift for good checkups sounds OK to me, though. I say save the bribing for when you REALLY need it! My parents were NOT "into" oral hygiene like I am now at 31, but how I wish, wish, WISH they brush...

Well, I'm not braced yet, and I probably will buy a dentakit or two anyway, but I'm hoping to talk a friend into sewing me up something cute and similar (something that will breathe bit to dry out all the germs) and see how it works out... but I like Hello Kitty, too (even if I am 31)... Might as we...

I remember reading that Invisalign DOES work differently than conventional braces because they move the back teeth (molars) first, and later in the treatment the front teeth are moved (?)- correct me if I'm wrong. With braces, I *think* that all teeth are pretty much moved into their respective posi...

There were two offices where they did not even give or send me a written detailed evaluation of my teeth. One mailed one a few days after the appt., and one gave a really nice (and thorough) explanation of averything, and included a large booklet that was chock full of good information. One of the o...

My dentist (who I had just starting seeing at the time; 6 months ago) referred me to two orthos. One does Damon, metal, and ceramic, and the other was good, too. Then I asked co-workers who they used (one had a son in braces last year and the other's wife is currently braced). I saw one of those teo...

# of Consults

Just wondering why so many people just had 1 consultation and stayed there. I live in the US, and do not have ortho insurance, but since consults are free, I've been to 5. My decision isn't finalized, but I'm pretty sure it will #3 that I will stick with.

Denatkit

The Dentakit looks like a good idea, and I will probably buy at least one when I get braced, but are there different (cuter!) bags somewhere else?? I was thinking prints, or at least some cuter colors or shapes of bags.
I suppose I could just use a new makeup bag instead :(

Ultra

I love my Ultra Waterpik... I don't have braces yet, and I've been using it for 6 months. lately, I only use it about 2x per week (b/c I'm getting lazy). I did have a problem with the handle leaking, but customer service was good, and I get a replacement handle in about a week or two. That's when I ...

Sonicare

Just wondering if buying a Sonicare is worth it... from what I've read you just go through soo many brushes (of other types) and Sonicare's being so expensive. I want one, but don't want to get suckered into buying a new brush head every month! It's what some call the "stupid tax" aka learning the h...

Metal to Ceramic?

I know there are people who started out with ceramic and switched to metal, but has anyone gone from metal to ceramic?? I'm still on the fence, but I only have a couple of weeks left to decide. I was pretty certain I wanted Damons, but have decided against them ONLY because of them costing soo much ...

I also like the Mary Kay lip exfoliator- and I was at Bath & Body Works a few days ago and noticed they have a similar product. They also have many different kinds of lip balms there. I was at a larger store and they also had alot of stuff from other countries (Greece, France, Japan (?)) so it was f...

Hmmm, same problem here... at my most recent ortho consult (last week): he said he would put uppers & lowers on at the same time (Damons) and add a bracket to the lingual side of each of my two front teeth to keep from biting lowers off. Maybe he meant a turbo?? I need to ask him about that in more ...
