Re: Finally fixing my teeth.

update: I definitely had soooooo much pain and trouble getting my second set of aligners off of my bottom teeth the past few days. Maybe even a little more pain than what my first ones were. I feel a lot of movement in my upper left central incisor but I know that that one has to move a little for m...

Re: Finally fixing my teeth.

Another update quickly! By day 12 of my first aligners I was able to bite down on things again with my front teeth, so I didn't have to cut food up anymore haha. What I thought was strange, was that my aligners became non-tight and non-painful from about day 4 onward but at day 10 they became sore a...

Re: Braces or cavity?

A few days after my teeth started shifting the tightness and pain calmed down but I have developed a sharp pain in my lower central incisor every time I put any pressure on it still. I asked my orthodontist and he said it was totally normal and it's just the bone/roots of the tooth because that toot...

Re: Finally fixing my teeth.

Just a quick update guys! I'm now on day 8 of my aligners, they are definitely not tight anymore and my actual teeth have no pain at all, that left after 3-4 days. What I am finding, is that my gums are so sore from flossing so much! I floss after all my main meals which is 3 times a day and I used ...

Re: Finally fixing my teeth.

Hey, LisaK! Oh it's always quite exciting finding someone who has similar issues and has started treatment around the same time as you. I will definitely keep updating about my journey. How long is your treatment supposed to last? :)

Finally fixing my teeth.

So I thought I would keep a bit of a journal here to keep track of myself, I'm all over the place usually so I easily lose track of things and it would be nice to keep a 'journal' to kind of update every now and then :D I am a 24 years old and started my invisalign on the 10th of April this year. I'...

do attachments damage teeth?

Hey guys, I ended up getting my Invisalign a little early, I've had them in for almost four days now I think. I have a lot of attachments, 18, which is fine because I knew I was getting all those. I was just wondering if anyone here has had attachments and gotten them removed and had damaged teeth? ...

Re: still suffering from depression/regret after jaw surgery - advice?

Absolutely agree with everyone saying it all looks better post op! If you've had health improvements along with your aesthetic improvements then that's fantastic. Definitely visual improvements though. I had a broken cheek bone 5 years ago and they told me they could reconstruct the bone to a point ...

Re: How quickly do extraction gaps fill in?

Thanks for the replies, guys! Yes I will definitely call my orthodontist and voice my worries, I have emailed the office but he is away in the US at a conference thing (I'm in Australia), but hopefully he gets back to me soon, he is due back in office on the 10th and the other ortho that usually wor...

How quickly do extraction gaps fill in?

Hey guys, So I went ahead and got my lower central incisor removed in preparation for my invisalign aligners. That was 3 days ago now, so the healing is coming along. But I have some worries now, I was initially due to go in and get my aligners on the 18th of April, but my work is now requiring me t...

Re: Nearly finished but now have overjet :(

I am about to start treatment and have had a lower central incisor removed, my ortho told me that when the gap closes I will have a slight overjet that he plans to correct with elastics. Maybe your orthodontist has plans to use elastics on you? If not, maybe if you bring it to their attention they m...

Re: Do I have flared teeth after braces?

I totally agree with saying that you should call your ortho and say you aren't happy. I really really didn't want extractions, I have pretty severe crowding. But my orthodontist said if he was to go ahead with no extractions on the bottom I would end up with flared teeth as there is 'only so much th...

Re: What did you pay for your treatment?

1. 24 months (that's being hopeful haha) 2. $9,200 AUD. 3.Invisalign 4. Severe upper and lower crowding, I have a hell of a snaggle tooth going on as well. Also says he is going to make my smile wider up the top (something about moving the teeth outwards) and fixing my bite at the front. Very surpri...

Re: Lower central incisor extraction concerns

Oh goodluck, hopefully you can keep all your teeth! I was hoping to keep all mine but I'm still thankful it's just the one tooth. But yeah, I haven't been able to find too much about the face changes from incisor extraction. Very glad I can avoid the premolar extraction otherwise my anxiety would be...

Re: Poll: At What Age Did You Get Your Braces?

It's so interesting reading this thread, I felt like I was almost 'too late' going in at 24 and sorting my teeth out but it's so refreshing to see so many other non-teens here! I'm 24 and just waiting for my aligners to come in now, only a couple weeks away now :)
