Re: Does this look weird to you?

I had my left lower central incisor extracted for Invisalign treatment. Because my upper jaw is so narrow, I opted for the extraction of one lower tooth rather than surgery for my upper jaw. We spoke about it for so long before deciding it was best, my ortho didn't want to extract and I didn't want ...

Re: Whiten before braces?

I've noticed that there is pretty mixed opinions about whether or not someone should get teeth whitening before braces. Personally, I think if you have the money to do it and it's not going to put you out financially, go ahead and do it. But if you're a bit cash strapped, I would just wait until aft...

Re: Clear drinks with Invisalign

I think most orthodontists will tell you to only drink water with them in. My orthodontist said to me ideally in a perfect world you would only drink water with them in but most people don't. He was very very strict about telling me not to have any hot drinks and avoid staining drinks like iced coff...

Re: Is invisalign really invisible?

I have 18 attachments, all my front teeth have attachments. So my invisalign is definitely not completely invisible if you get close enough. Without attachments, they would be very hard notice. I mean, when I take them out to eat and whatever the attachments themselves are totally not visible but wh...

Re: Reversing Bicuspid Extractions and Depressed!

I can see why you're upset after spending so much time and money on something and then not getting a result that's making you happy. But yeah, I've heard many good things about Dr. Hang and I don't even live in the US haha. Hopefully he isn't your current orthodontist! Your teeth definitely look lov...

Re: Can Invisalign widen arches or do I need a palatal expander?

You're welcome! :D I think that braces like damon braces or something would probably give you a faster result, my ortho said that my teeth will straighten out as quickly as they would have with fixed braces but my widening will take about 2 months longer with invisalign than with fixed braces. I gue...

Re: Can Invisalign widen arches or do I need a palatal expander?

I think if you wanted a perfect bite you would have to get a palate expander, Invisalign isn't good at moving molars. Personally for me, all I wanted was to have a nice straight smile where my smile wasn't so narrow. I have a narrow upper jaw, my orthodontist told me I would need surgery if I wanted...

Re: Can IPR affect facial shape and profile?

I don't think IPR would affect face shape, because it's only filing of your enamel so there is no bone loss like when someone gets a tooth extracted. I know that sometimes when people get teeth extracted the bone loss from the gum can change their face shape a little because I guess it is a bit of s...

Re: Finally fixing my teeth.

I totally agree guys, and yeah the stigma probably does stem from whiny people who don't realize how lucky they are to be getting straight teeth! I would have loved my mum to able to afford to straighten my teeth! haha. I have a little update! I went for my appointment on the 5th of June. They said ...

Re: Nearly finished but now have overjet :(

Thank you for your replies. I have now been to see my orthodontist and he says that there is nothing more he can do unless i want 2 of my top teeth taken out! I am now thinking about getting a second opinion as i am definitely not happy with my results. The only thing is that i do not want to pay a...

Re: Finally fixing my teeth.

Thanks for the replies, guys! I am excited with my progress too, I'm excited to upload some more pictures soon, hopefully everyone else can see the progress I can, some days I think I'm just imagining it :D Another update real quick; I am now 3 days into my 4th set of aligners. I've found that consi...

Re: Nervous about lower incisor extraction

Grayskies, My bite before didn't bother me but my ortho said it was bad haha I have class III malocclusion and my two upper front teeth sit pretty deeply over my two lower teeth so I definitely had deepness to my bite but only in my two front teeth, my two lateral incisors on the bottom were the one...

Re: Nervous about lower incisor extraction

I had my lower left central incisor extracted just over a month ago for invisalign. It was completely last resort though, me and my ortho were moving things around on the clincheck for ages before he came to the realization that it was the lower incisor extraction or a completely non-functional bite...

Re: Not happy with the result, end of treatment. Ceramics 14months

Definitely get a second opinion. While your teeth are indeed very beautifully straight, I agree with everyone else saying you just have the overbite. Your dentist or a new orthodontist might be able to just put some elastics on and correct it to the point where it's a more comfortable bite and impro...

Re: Finally fixing my teeth.

Time for another update! Been super busy with work so two weeks just flew by this time! I put my third set of aligners in last night, the amount of pain I woke up with today was the most amount I have had so far. Getting them out is a struggle just like the first couple of days of the last sets I've...
