Re: Teeth/retainer cleaning regimin

I'm preparing for my debanding date and I'd like to stock up on all of the things I will need to keep my retainers and teeth looking great. I know I will have both a Hawley and Essix retainer for work and I'm wondering what are some tips on setting up a cleaning schedule for your retainers. I plan ...

Re: How can I get my braces off faster?

I'd advise caution on large doses of vitamin D, and to check with your physician. Vitamin D and its precursors are fat soluble and can build up to toxic levels in the body. I agree you should be careful but for me an over the counter 3000 IU dosage seems to work. The Netherlands is very very very c...

Re: Permanent Retainer is a PAIN! :(

I have a bonded retainer on my top 4 and one on my lower 6. I've had them on since January 18 of this year and the top one has already come loose. :| apparently I flossed too hard and it made one of the edges come up. What came loose (everything including the "glue" or just the wire )? In the first...

Re: "What A Long, Strange Trip It's Been" - Robert Hunter, Grateful Dead

I'll bet when I ask my ortho what's going on, he'll just kind of shrug and say "sometimes that happens, totally normal" and then I'll think to myself, "he just casually explained it in about 97% fewer words than it took me to guess in this post. I'm so glad that I wasted my time thinking about it."...

Re: Are my teeth moving if they aren't hurting

I have my metal braces adjusted every 3 weeks. After the first week my teeth are not hurting. Does that indicate I should be coming in more often? Are the second two weeks a waste if the teeth aren't moving? -Robert As long as you see the archwire bend out of shape it is exerting force on your teet...

Re: How can I get my braces off faster?

Do not double up on rubber bands, you can actually cause irreversible damage to your teeth. The only thing you can really do is listen to your ortho's directions. Wear your rubber bands exactly as much as he/she tells you, don't skip wearing them during school or otherwise "take breaks" from them. ...

Re: Underdeveloped maxilla (top arch)

Its been suggested my top arch is narrow. Im currently half way through metal braces top and teeth and my teeth are being lifted out slightly with some teeth being turned on the top. I have triangle shaped teeth so considering veneers top 10 teeth to cover small gaps and to widen my smile. Slightly...

Maybe with something like this but if you are a girl it could already be too late. If you really do have very large teeth extractions could work for you https://www.google.nl/search?q=activator+beugel&client=ms-android-samsung&source=lnms&prmd=isvn&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjs5YKVmsDSAhXItBoKHYWEAWEQ...

Re: Metal braces, gaps, and triangle teeth !

Hi godutch .... they're pretty strong. As long as you don't use your teeth to open things and be careful. With good oral hygiene can last 20 years and don't stain. £700 per tooth I'm quoted, ie £7,0000 fitted - after a wax up and temps to see if I like them. I too prefer natural teeth but these ema...

I had that too after I got a powerchain. I drank same water that evening the pain was so intense it numbed me and I couldn't believe what had happened, so I drank same more water with the same pain. I thought I had developed a pulpitis (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pulpitis) but the pain went away ...

Re: Unexplainable...

When did everyone have the molar build ups removed? I'm at a little over six months and mine are still on. They do bother me because they are the type that is just composite put on the front top of two of my molars (think pointier than the blue stuff I have seen here) Do you have to ask if you are ...

Re: Invisalign Ruined my midline?

Hi all, I am halfway through my invisalign journey, and I initially sought treatment to restore a bad bite. (It used to be edge to edge) and fix minor alignment issues caused from not wearing a retainer after my teenage braces. I just noticed that my midline is off and shifted to my left, this is a...
