Re: Over torqued teeth elastics

Hi, Just wanted to know, if the teeth were straight but needed more pressure to angle the teeth more inwards to point towards the tongue, how would this be done? it it were elastics where would the elastics be? Also would this bring the teeth in? I would think your bone structure would play a part

Re: Ortho treatment exacerbated gummy smile and strained chin

I think you haven't made enough posts to post a picture.

Have you spoken to your ortho about this? Assuming you see an ortho and not a general dentist.

Re: Is there a reason we don't mention doctors names

I haven't sent any since they quit answering them. Got the hint, okay. I was just trying to find out results of the MRI so I could plan the price of my surgery. They didn't like the reading by the radiology doctor so they want me to have it done again somewhere else. I guess I'll wait till closer i...

Re: Can Invisalign fix an overjet?

You need to see an ortho, not a dentist.

You need a scan.

I don't receommend Invasalign. Traditional braces work, get over your vanity and get them.

You have an impacted wisdom tooth? It needs to be removed. I wouldn't be getting braces of until it's been removed.

Re: 6 month smile journey

I agree, it doesn't fill me with much hope if they can move back that quickly. But I believe the fixed retainer that is glued into position behind the front 6 teeth will prevent them from moving once the brackets are all off, without this they would almost certainly all move again. I will certainly...

Re: 6 month smile journey

I'm a bit confused at to how your teeth are going to be stable when they come out of the brackets?

It's also very poor form of the clinic to not get you an appointment for over two weeks. They can fit you in. Now you have to spend longer in the dentists chair and their profits have gone down.

Re: Is there anything you can do to speed your treatment up?s

Oh I also forget to add that NSAIDs (Advil) impair tooth movement according to a number of studies (one of them: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/11197570/), but acetaminophen (Tylenol) does not. So I avoid Advil at all cost despite it being the more effective painkiller (the price you have to...

Re: How long did you use wax for?

I used it for the first two months, mainly where the posts on my brackets would carve out little ruts into the inside of my lip. Those took forever to heal, and eventually even the wax didn't help any more because the cuts got too big. I got so frustrated at the wax that I just started shoving piec...

Re: How long did you use wax for?

You use it to release chafing in the moth. Your inside mouth quickly hardens up. You won't be using it for 30 months. Why have you got it on every bracket?

Ceramic arent as strong as metal.

They shouldn't be sharp because you have the pig, wire and bracket. Maybe you just aren't used to them yet?

Re: Rubber bands - how the heck to get them on?

I hook it on one hook, stretch it to another hook and play about with it. I don't find them too hard and I've used at least five.
