Re: Extraction of bicuspids and benefits on the profile

Thanks Lovespain! I will definitely come back to you with questions :) I'm having them done two at a time- top first then bottoms a week later. I'm already seeing a tiny bit of movement so I can't wait to see the changes once these teeth are out!

Re: Extraction of bicuspids and benefits on the profile

I will be having all 4 bicuspids removed on the 13th. I didn't think anything about it until I started reading stories online. Yikes. I have a pretty big overjet- my bottom teeth are completely hidden when my back teeth come together- and I can't help but think it will only be an improvement overall...

Re: Hi new member Just got braces on at 30 yrs old

Hi!! I am 1 week braced tomorrow at 33 years old. I've only had a couple people comment on my braces- and not in a mean way or anything. Kind of like a "good for you" kind of way. The kids on the other hand-i've caught a couple staring at my mouth in a bit of disbelief lol. I just chuckle when they ...

Re: Eating is a pain in the behind!

I feel kinda guilty complaining about this. You guys have it so much worse with bumpers and build-ups. My back teeth come together so I have the full ability to eat- it just hurts to bite anything and super annoying and time consuming to have to keep getting the stuck food from the brackets and my e...

Re: Eating is a pain in the behind!

It just feels like too much effort for very little reward ha ha. Oh- maybe i'll just get ice cream! :). I am so thankful I don't have those molar build-ups. I feel for you :(.

Eating is a pain in the behind!

Hi all! This is almost 3 full days in braces for me. I have to say, I'm pleasantly surprised so far as I'm only having minimal discomfort. Teeth are a bit sore but nothing a couple Advil can't handle. What I'm having issue with is eating. Right now It is a huge task just to eat anything. Takes so mu...

Re: Brace day!! :)

Tyrantblade- you're right. I totally meant to say premolar. Call me a noob lol :). And you are also correct in saying this super light wire can still do something cause my bottom front teeth are a bit "unhappy" this morning.

Re: Brace day!! :)

Thanks! Yeah- I just didn't think the ceramic was for me. Told me invisalign wouldn't really work at all for the top. I'm planning on rockin' the colored ligs anyway :). Plus- traditional metal was cheaper lol. I'm losing 4 teeth- bicuspids- top and bottom. Then the fun really starts lol. He told me...

Brace day!! :)

So today was the big day. I got metal train tracks with baby blue bands. No moving teeth yet since I have extractions in a week, so I have just a thin, delicate wire. The brackets feel HUGE behind my lips- will take some time getting used to. I'm so ready for this, though. I have a 9mm overjet and a...

New metalmouth at 33 :)...expander question?

Hi all! Long time reader- first time poster. I'm getting train tracks at the ripe old age of 33 and I am beyond excited! I have lived with a HUGE overbite (you can't even see my bottom teeth when my teeth come together) my entire life. I'm so ready for my new profile even though my ortho says- no le...
