Re: New colors!!!

I'm loving my plum colored ligs :). But I'm a big fan of purple in general. I like the idea of the lilac or mint green. Maybe both together?

Does anyone-

Find that it's easier to put elastics IN than to take them OUT?? At least those with simple configurations. Mine run right along the wire and I find myself digging in my mouth far deeper and longer when I remove them :P As a side note- I have gaps opening up all over the place! All of my front teeth...

Re: 1st Adjustment

The bag of elastics says 1.3 oz and 2.6 oz depending on the length? They are stretched from the canine to the next to last molar. Not too much pain that I need to take anything- just the pulling feeling and once again, can't bite into anything. Ask me again tomorrow, though lol, I'm sure that will c...

1st Adjustment

So finally, after about 3 months of prep, I had my first adjustment. Got a bigger wire top/bottom and my first set of elastics (type: yellow) that I wear front- back on both top and bottom. I've had them for 3 hours and holy wow. They are really pulling! I get to wear these for a month. He said some...

Re: New metalmouth at 33 :)...expander question?

Hi- welcome! Thanks for the reply. Mine seems to have "settled" into place now. I don't really notice it anymore-except when i'm eating or talking lol. It's still hard to say the hard C sound. Not sure if anyone else notices, but i can hear it. I will be wearing this for most of my treatment.

Re: Things People Do -share your funny gripes

Ugh- my boss gives me gummi bears ALL the time! I absolutely love them and I had no problem eating a whole bag by myself in the past. I've told him multiple times- thanks, but I really can't eat them, but there they are- waiting for me beside my computer. I just give them to one of the other guys. H...

Re: Weird red bubble on premolar extraction site?

This is probably not the same since it's been 12 days, but I developed an ulcer where the dentis put the numbing shot. It started getting really sore about 3 days after the extraction. It's pretty much gone now, 12 days after extraction. It took a while for my tongue to not feel like it was being cu...

It's a great day!

So the pain in my mouth is finally at a much much more managable level. Extractions are healing nicely, the ulcer behind my canine is almost gone, AND my super crooked bottom canines have moved a significant amount- just since Monday!! The top teeth are moving- I can feel the difference when I run m...

Re: Eating is a pain in the behind!

Totally! When I had mine, I went to munch on some animal crackers at work one day. Needless to say- I didn't munch on more than 1 bite lol. I was sooo happy to get them out. I bit two of them in half, so halfway through i had pieces flopping around. Annoying as all get out. Ice cold water helps with...

Re: The pain is getting a bit ridiculous...

Update just in case anyone is wondering: apparently, the dentist uses a mixture of anesthetic plus epinephrine when he numbs me up. The epinephrine in the shot had caused a prolonged constriction of the blood vessel(s) behind my tooth. This has caused a big ulcer and alot alot alot of pain. Gave me ...
