Re: The Professor's Story of Braces at 40 (with pics)

Wow! I can't believe no one notices! It goes to show how little others pay attention, with the bulky braces and even with a brand new wonderful smile!

I can't wait until my turn!

Re: Dance competitions and braces

That seems harsh to me, metalliKa and a bit out of tune with your usual compassion and helpful advice. People in the performing arts are of course concerned about appearances, knowing that any distraction to the audience/judges might detract from the overall appreciation of a performance. Many of u...

Re: Dance competitions and braces

I don't dance and apologize if I'm crude but I wonder why some of you brace wearers are even concern about this kind of stuff? It only goes to show how superficial you are! Sorry again for my crude comment.

Re: Lovely teeth is braced - happy 41st birthday.

I hope you are right! I feel that because wire wasn't changed last Friday that not much will happen until my next appoint with a change to square wire in 7 weeks time. There's a bit to work on in my bottom arch! There may not be much going on on the surface, but the bones are constantly being break...

Re: I got the wrong treatment

I got braces to correct my crowded and crooked teeth. My teeth are now straight but I still have the gap from my missing 1st lower right molar. My ortho and I agreed to not close that because I don't have enough bones in that missing tooth to move my second molar. If he were to try to move it orthod...

Re: I got the wrong treatment

If I am understanding you right, you lost the #30 tooth years before you started orthodontic treatment. If so, that gap cannot be closed orthodontically due to bone loss. And that should have been discussed with you before your treatment started and in the papers you signed. Two years prior to my br...

Your teeth look absolutely beautiful! I am three weeks in and feeling pretty discouraged but seeing your progress is making me excited all over again :) Hi katienorah! Thanks for stopping by and thank you for the nice comment! I will tell you that the most important thing in all of this is having P...

Re: does this happen often or no?

Yes, it happens when your teeth move. If it bothers you, a little wax works wonders until you see your ortho.

Re: Elastics

When in doubt, always consult your ortho. While I don't think skipping 4 days is an issue, I would feel bad because it shows I lack commitment.

Re: Life Behind Brackets

Your teeth are looking great and so white too! Thanks Jdizle! I think it's the light. I usually take my photos facing the light and against a white background. Thanks for the reply to my question. Can I ask another. I noticed that like myself your brackets are positioned quite near the edge of your...

Re: Panicking

Look at the extraction site, if the plug (blood clot) is dislodged, yup, you have dry socket. If so, call your dentist asap!
