When did you stop wearing elastics?

At what point did you stop wearing elastics in your treatment? Did you wear them clear up until the end? Did you stop somewhere near the end? In the middle?

Inquiring minds...

Re: Bands on the very back molars?

Thanks Ladies! I appreciate your comments and help. :) My question isn't as much about the process - I have other bands in my mouth - but now that I've been in my braces for 10 months - without the use of my last (#7?) molars in the treatment, the rest of my teeth in the archwire - are in a differen...

Bands on the very back molars?

Anyone here have bands on the very back molars? Braces on last January - with lower bands on the next to last molars and upper - brackets on the upper next to last molar. Today, it was decided that I will get spacers and bands on those back molars to bring those teeth in line with the archwire. What...

Re: Carriere, Lingual Arch, Ceramic Braces at 58

Today I had another checkup. The orthodontist agreed with me that my back molars are "adrift" and seem to not be in the same line as the archwire now. When I get back from an upcoming trip, spacers go in and then a week later, bands on all those molars to tie them into my archwire. Anyone else have ...

Re: Carriere, Lingual Arch, Ceramic Braces at 58

Two days after my root canal and I feel so much better. The ache is GONE. I started wearing elastics today and it doesn't hurt!

After my detour, I'm back on the road. One week until my next ortho checkup. :jump:

Re: Carriere, Lingual Arch, Ceramic Braces at 58

Thank you! I'm actually finished up with it already. That tooth had a crown already from about 10 years ago. It was a tooth that had a large filling that didn't appear to want to hold up so the dentist drilled out the filling, cleaned up the tooth and put a crown on it 10 years ago. The endodontist ...

Re: Carriere, Lingual Arch, Ceramic Braces at 58

And so - today I can report that my root canal is behind me. I'm sore but grateful it is over. Hopefully now, once the healing from the actual process is over, I will enjoy the extended benefits of no more hot-cold sensitivity or soreness or stinkiness when I use my waterpik. I've been wearing my le...

Re: Carriere, Lingual Arch, Ceramic Braces at 58

Its decided. I'm scheduled for a root canal. Spent a good deal of time with a well respected, experienced endodontist - and he checked the painful tooth and proclaimed it ready for a root canal. Monday. Unless they have a cancellation and I can get in earlier. I hope so....Praying that they call me ...

Re: Sensitive tooth - how to treat?

Saw my doctor - who is treating my sinuses but warned me against root canal if the issue is with my tooth. :( Very confusing.....

Tomorrow is the endodontist.

Root canals? Have you heard the scary stuff?

So I'm dealing with a potential dying tooth - that was banded and is no longer. Tomorrow I see the endodontist to determine the best course of action to fix this pain. The dentist says: Save the tooth because he is a dentist and his job is saving teeth. My family doc says: Do not get a root canal. T...

Re: Carriere, Lingual Arch, Ceramic Braces at 58

Dentist did another x-ray and couldn't see a thing. I received antibiotics and have started those. A referrel to an endodontist to determine the cause. Also saw my family doc who gave me medicine for my sinuses but couldn't determine if this is sinus (I hope) or a bad tooth :( I'm still hurting badl...

Re: Sensitive tooth - how to treat?

Dentist saw me first thing this morning. Another X-ray and still negative. No explanation for my pain. Gave me antibiotic and pain meds and referred me to an endodontist (tomorrow) to figure it out. This afternoon I see my GP to consider my sinuses. Oh - this tooth won't be banded or bracketed again...

Re: Carriere, Lingual Arch, Ceramic Braces at 58

I'm hurting. I went to the ortho office today where my upper right band was removed so that an x-ray could check out those teeth. They appeared to be fine - and I was hoping to begin to feel better. Instead, I'm hurting tonight and worried how I will make it until the morning. Ibuprofen is not touch...

Re: Sensitive tooth - how to treat?

the throbbing is worse tonight. Removing the band today was painful and I wonder if that action only aggravated my already sore tooth. I'm praying that tomorrow its better - but otherwise, I'm heading to the dentist for him to check it and I have an appointment with my doctor in the afternoon to che...
