Re: Braces and our significant others?
Good topic. As an older couple, I gave a lot of thought to my husband and what he would think of having a wife with braces at my age. He has turned out to be my best supporter. He was thoroughly accepting and encouraging because he knew how much it bothered me. He loves inspecting my teeth and wants...

Re: 57 and braces again
Thanks KayKay for your lovely comments. My original sentence is 20 to 24 months. My orthodontist says I am on target for that time frame. I told him in the beginning that I didn't care if my midline was off. No one really notices that anyways. Probably the only ones who notices is those of us crazy ...

Congrats on making it to your 8 month mark wearing retainers. Is that pretty normal to be in retainers full time for 8 months or is every case different based on age. How is your speech in retainers? Any lisp?

Congratulations! Your teeth look amazing!
Did they feel loose or funny when they first came off? What kind of retainer do you have and what is the plan and times you need to wear it?
Fantastic results!

Re: 57 and braces again
Had a great adjustment today! I love when new things happen. I am now wearing class 2 elastics! Yay! I also had a power chain put on my upper arch. They also removed my lower wire and placed some sort of plastic tie threaded around my lower social 6 teeth. It is to help them close up faster. Then pl...

Re: Introduction! New to board
Hello Ladywithbraces1, congrats on your decision to do something for yourself. There are a lot of us on this board who are older than you are. It is not selfish at all to want to have a better smile. It is an investment in yourself. I have the radiance braces and while they are bigger than the small...

Re: Radiance clear advice for a newbie
Hi braced43, I have radiance braces also. Everything Itsfreyja said is totally correct. The ligs that go around the brackets do stain. Find out if your ortho will do a refresh on the ligs in between appointments if they stain and look dirty. Try using a straw when drinking coffee or tea. Curry will ...

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f342/Mtm57/008_zpsddf2syue.jpg Happy One Year Brace Anniversary to me! Sorry it took me an extra month to update my progress pictures. Things have moved along very nicely. There is still much more work to be done. Still not in elastics yet and my midline is still t...

Re: Staining...UGH.
I have clear braces and my orthodontist told me all about the ligs staining. He tells all his clear bracket patients to come in whenever they need a "refresh" as he calls it. I love, love coffee. I tried drinking it with a straw but that is not too enjoyable. The most I would go in between ligs bein...
