Re: Day 3 of lingual braces (Win) - upper and lower

I'm just back from my latest 6 weekly adjustment, so I've now had them for 12 weeks and 1 day (still counting!!) The ortho was pleased with my progress and actually so was I. It's been a long 3 months, but looking at the original photos I can finally see the beginnings of an improvement in the overc...

Re: Upper and Lower Incognito or just Upper

Glad you have a sense of humour, you will need it!! So here is my view, but you need to balance that with the many many far more positive reviews and experiences on this forum, and I'm still only 11 weeks in. BUT.... right now if I could rewind the clock I would go with lower ceramics and uppe...

Re: Incognito Specialist Sydney Australia

Definitely worth shopping around. Once the darn things are in you have to live with them, and having confidence in and access to your orthodontist will help a lot!!

Re: Day 3 of lingual braces (Win) - upper and lower

Well, I had my first adjustment on Tuesday and it's now 6.5 weeks since I had my linguals fitted. (I am looking forward to the time when I don't know EXACTLY how many days/weeks I have been suffering for!!) The ortho engaged a few more of my teeth, as the first 6 weeks had made enough space to get a...

Re: How long did it take you to speak "normally" again ?

Hi Kitri, I feel for you 100%!! I think roundabout now (day 3) is definitely the absolute worst day for you, I certainly felt like marching into my ortho and demanding that everything was taken out again at this stage. I also remember reading every single post on this forum (and honestly searched wh...

Re: Dilemma: rest tongue to let it heal or practice speaking

cs2thecox, Encouraging to hear that your teeth are looking good! I'm still looking 6 times a day to see if I notice any difference (I don't, obviously!!) My fallen off bracket wasn't re-fitted yet as it wasn't actually doing anything (with wires) as I'm still only on the thin wires. It was providing...

Re: Liking powerchains!

Are you still liking them? How long will you need to wear them and use the elastics?

I'm still getting to grips with the basics, 4.5 weeks in, so no tips from me I'm afraid!

Shame that we seem to be the only two people on here at the moment....

Good luck!

Re: Dilemma: rest tongue to let it heal or practice speaking

Thank you cs2thecox, I took comfort from your words and hung on in there. I'm pleased to say that the tongue has now pretty much healed up completely and I am currently free of wax, Bonjela (Iglu in my case) and any major aches/pains. The speech started to improve yesterday, so 2 weeks after fitting...

Dilemma: rest tongue to let it heal or practice speaking?

I'm now on day 7 of my lingual braces and am really struggling: my speech remains terrible (lisping, and I sound like I have a big sweet in my mouth) and my tongue/gums have some sores that I just can't seem to get rid of. I know I need to practice speaking, to overcome the speech thing, but every t...

Day 3 of lingual braces (Win) - upper and lower

Hi everyone, I'm 52, live in the UK, have finally taken the plunge after decades of hating my smile, and trying not to regret it already! Hoping for some encouragement to see me through the dark days, which is what they feel like at the moment! I've had the "Win" appliance fitted (top and bottom); a...
