Re: Last day before braces... YAY! Did you do anything speci

I'm getting braces next Wednesday, and I already planned out my last meal.....MEXICAN! So my vote for your last meal is Mexican hehe. :-) Good luck tomorrow! If it makes you feel any better, I had Mexican food on Sunday (11 days after getting braces). You shan't be without Mexican for too long. :-*

Re: SARPE + braces + triple jaw surgery blog

Knowing other people's midline is off makes me feel a lot better. I felt like a mutant when I noticed originally! No, the SARPE didn't resolve the crossbite, it only widened it, but it's still not aligned properly. I am hoping elastics help although I'm getting the surgery regardless, so I guess it ...

Re: SARPE and braces and jaw surgery oh my!

Thanks, Kevin! I agree with you...losing weight is constant effort, but the braces do their job no matter what. Both take a longgggggggg time, though! :D

Re: Anyone ground down teeth from anterior open bite?

I have the same issues, my molars are pretty worn down since they're the only teeth that have ever touched. I haven't been told anything needs to be done with them, though.
Hello! My cheeks didn't really get cut up, and I only used **cannot mention** for a couple days, and more as a preventative measure.
Oops, didn't know I couldn't mention certain products. I was talking about a popular brand of dental silicone, that people use as an alternative...

SARPE and braces and jaw surgery oh my!

Hello! While I have just joined this forum, my journey started a long time ago. I'm 28 years old and knew since I was 12 or 13 that I needed braces. My dentist sent me for a consultation with an orthodontist back then; however, my parents couldn't afford it and the idea was quickly shelved. I've had...

Re: Last day before braces... YAY! Did you do anything speci

Congrats on getting braces tomorrow! I just got braces 2 weeks ago so it's still all fresh for me, too.

I had SARPE back in December so my last supper was quite awhile ago. I had a bacon wrapped steak for my "last supper." No regrets!

Re: SARPE + braces + triple jaw surgery blog

Thanks so much for checking out my blog, Anna! I have a crossbite and according to my surgeon, my upper jaw is tilted backwards. I have an anterior open bite with a lot of wear on my molars. My crossbite is really evident in a recent photo I posted, you can see my midline isn't under my septum. Than...

Re: Dating with braces

I'm a 28 woman, not married but in a relationship. My sister is a bit younger and single and we both have braces right now. My boyfriend has been extremely supportive. My sister is nervous about dating with braces but I think it's actually a positive! It shows that you take care of yourself, you car...

SARPE + braces + triple jaw surgery blog

Hello all! I started my braces journey back in November (when I started getting consultations). Without going into my whole story, my journey has involved SARPE, currently braces, and eventually will involve triple jaw surgery (upper, lower, genioplasty). I've been blogging about all of it at http:/...

Re: How much did you guys pay for your braces?

Mine were $6280 (Canadian) for ceramic on the upper 6, metal for the rest. My ortho also installed an RPE, but Ontario healthcare paid for the surgery. I think $6280 was before the $250 discount they gave me because my sister also has braces from the same orthodontist. My case is more complicated; m...
