Re: New here!

Hi! It's very interesting that your estimated time was 6 months or less - from reading here it seems like that is rare unless it's a special program. What sort of issues are you trying to fix? Are you happy with your results so far?

Good luck!

Re: First time posting - braces on for 2 months

Update: It's been 5 months and I now have my bottoms on now as well. No problems and I'm actually accustomed to wearing braces (never thought that would happen!) I wish I actually knew when I will be done -- like a finish line! I don't even ask my orthodontist to guess. I don't think that is fair to...

Re: 34 and getting braces for the SECOND time!

Hello! The decision to get braces (for an adult) is a difficult one to make! My guess is the changes you are making with your teeth will also impact the overall health of our mouth -- less crowding will mean less chance for decay. My orthodontist told me my teeth were very healthy so I struggled wit...

Dental cleaning?

It's been 5 months of braces and my teeth feel filthy!! Does anyone here ever go to the regular dentist for a cleaning? Would this be weird?

Any tips on how to get teeth more clean?

Thanks!!

Re: New, anything to watch out for?

Hi! I'm not an expert but I did go for a few consultations before getting my braces. I noticed that sometimes you have the option of doing a "quick fix" which fixes what you want changed (a crooked tooth, a gap) but often there is an issue involving the bite that also needs to get fixed in order to ...

Re: Newbie - cfast braces

Hello! After I had my braces put on so many people said they didn't think that I needed braces or that they never noticed....but overall it may help to improve your appearance and it certainly will help you with your confidence! I'm very happy that I finally "made the plunge" -- I wish you the best!...

Re: The new girl

Hi Jen! You are so young compared to an old lady like me! I'm 45 yrs old -- I wish I got braces for myself when I was 28 yrs old! I started out with the tops only. Next month I will be getting on my bottoms -- my orthodontist says that once these are on the process will move along quickly. In the be...

Re: Why does it seem like nothing is happening?

Thank you for your nice reply - you are 100% correct! It has taken me a few months but I'm finally resigned to the fact that these braces are here to stay for a year or more and the more I think about it (how long will this take!?) the longer it will seem.... I've stopped hiding my braces and am not...

Why does it seem like nothing is happening?

I'm new to braces -- I've only has them on for less than 3 months so far. I've had 2 adjustments the first was uncomfortable and the second didn't seem to make any changes. I didn't even get sore afterwards. I don't think I have a complicated case (after seeing so many other people's pictures and he...

Re: First time posting - braces on for 2 months

Hi Sheababy. Thank you for your reply. I'm suppose to get rubber bands, too. Right now I'm not entirely clear what we are doing right now and I'm feeling a bit frustrated. My orthodontist said it will be about 4 months until I get the bottoms on and can start the rubber bands. The goals I set for my...

First time posting - braces on for 2 months

Hello everybody! This forum is a great idea.... so many times I want to learn more about braces or just discuss it and this seems like the perfect place :) Here is a bit of my story: I'm almost 45 years old. I've been wanting to get braces since I was a teenager but my parents either didn't have the...
