Re: Fixed retainer on front of teeth?

I won't say no, but probably not. Why would you want a stainless wire cemented to the front of your teeth?

Re: Plate removal

Yes I have 2, 3 hole plates on either side; from when they did the sliding chin thing... probably only 7-10 mm in total length, so not huge but I can feel them when I press.

Re: Plate removal

I've been wondering about the plate in my chin... Its the only place I still have altered sensation. I haven't met with my surgeon in quite some time; but will bring it up when I make my appointment after my braces come off.

Re: Requisite CPAP Trial (Fep Blue)

Most CPAP (APAP) machines are decent. The biggest 2 makers are Probably Resmed and Philip Respironics. Resmed's Airsense auto is a great machine. The PR Remstar 60 would be similar. The different between APAP and CPAP is the CPAP machines provide one set pressure and the APAPs are variable pressure....

There's a tacked thread at the top of the surgery page; but talk to your Dr about what foods they say are ok.

Re: Effects of mouth breathing .

You pretty much covered the biggest issue; but there's more to it; a forward position of the head in relation to your neck. Remodeled airway because of that. Narrow nasal passages due to narrow upper arch. There's a few videos out there if you want to do more research.

Re: Still swollen at 7 months post op. What the heck?

If it's not a reaction; you can try massage to keep things moving. But; you're technically only 4 months out from your last surgery. It could take up to a year for that to resolve.

Re: Show of hands if you’ve had a POSITIVE experience post extractions

I won't raise my hand as a positive outcome from extractions; but there are a lot of modern techniques used today that can repair that method of treatment. Implants, double jaw surgery, expanders can all be used to reverse the damage done.

Re: Teeth Shift after month w/o retainer wear

If you want your teeth to stay where they were; retainers are for the rest of your life.

Your orthodontist should be able to help; either modifying your existing retainer or maybe a couple months of invisalign style treatment.

Pro tip; wear you retainers!

Re: Spacers

Depends on how they were put in; they should kind look like : tooth) | (tooth The part in blue being the spacer; )( are the 2 molar sides touching. The spacer is a donut; will slowly squeeze back to the original size; pushing molars apart. Molars aren't flat sided; they have a bulge in the middle an...

I'd actually wait on everything until you get back. It's just another 5 months and then you'll be local for any problems or issues that might come up.

Re: Purposely Letting Orthodontic Treatment Relapse

Why wait for relapse?

Go to an orthodontist and see what they have to say. Try not to diagnose yourself but bring up your concerns.
