Re: Roses' braces

Nice progress! Your wires straightened out a lot. Hoping to get new wires at my next adjustment. I really feel there is progress when I can see them straightening :) Great progress and wishing you more to come!!! Thank you for sharing your pics - seeing your wires straightening out gives us newbies...

Re: Yellowing of teeth.... and whitening whilst in braces...

I whitened before braces and used a whitening toothpaste and whitening mouthwash throughout. Teeth looked white with braces and didn't even need to be whitened upon removal. Wish that I had whitened before braces too... but still hoping to hear from someone who has experience of whitening whilst in...

Not only have I stopped snacking, I think whatever I do eat, only half of it reaches my stomach because the other half gets stuck in my braces/teeth and gets cleaned out LOL!
So true SkizzyD...

Re: Well, eating sure isn't fun anymore...

I've also stopped snacking as I cant imagine cleaning my teeth after snacking as well, that would mean I would spend my whole day cleaning teeth. I eat 3 square meals a day and clean after eating. It's a lot of work; brushing, flossing and mouth wash so I totally avoid snacking and it has been good...

Re: i think i am going to eat less:)

Welcome to the world of eating less.... :D I'm finding in my first week that it's not just because of sensitive teeth that I'm eating less - sloppy and/or slippery foods that don't require chewing are definitely narrowing down what's on the menu.... but also the fact that I have to remove all the ca...

Re: Silicone wax questions....

Thank you TMJJill and Norrie... Happily following your advice... 50 cases of OrthoSil ordered online - definitely worth the price since I am using it liberally now... Aaaaaaah relief from ripped up mouth (rinsing with warm salt water every day is finally starting to help too). Now, if I could just s...

Re: Yellowing of teeth.... and whitening whilst in braces...

Thanks ChiChi.... and also for posting your story - sounds as though you are a survivor of many of the early challenges that "newbies" like myself are dealing with.... It's definitely encouraging to know that things get better and/or easier to deal with.... :)

Yellowing of teeth.... and whitening whilst in braces....???

Is it just me or is it common for teeth to really look yellow soon after getting braces - despite ongoing good oral hygiene....??? I'm only one week in Clarity SL ceramics and already my teeth (which aren't naturally really white) appear very yellow... :( Of course I've always loved drinking coffee ...

Silicone wax questions....

Hi there... As a 50 year old "newbie" in Clarity SL ceramics (upper and lower) I am fast discovering (on day 2) that the hooks and prominent brackets on my teeth are causing sores.... :( Fortunately my Orthodontist provided me with a supply of both regular and OrthoSil silicone wax... I'm liking the...

Re: Braces at 54

Thanks GypsyCruiser and Ciara for the recommendations... I love my travel Waterpik but know that somehow/someway I have to master flossing with braces... Some of my brackets (since I just got them put on yesterday) are really close together/at odd angles making access very hard until my teeth start ...

Re: Hello from Alabama USA!

Sending a shout out of support from another "newbie" in GA.... Braces went on yesterday.... Really glad to have found this message board... There's so much useful info posted here (still trying to find my way around) and it's genuinely good to know that there are others (in all age "brackets") embar...

Re: "Front Line" customer service :)

Lorianne and Matilda... thank you for thinking that thousands will be following my progress... Every day in my "frontline" customer service job (which I love) I meet (and smile) at hundreds of people but I don't think that they are interested in my braces journey.....
