Re: Does everyone get elastics?

I googled this after I read your post... Turns out they are not always required there's a wealth of information about it online so I won't bore you with the logistics but the short answer is not always necessary;););) Thanks. :) Whenever I googled it there were so many posts like, "do I have to wea...

Does everyone get elastics?

This is probably a dumb question, but I was told at my last appointment that I'm going to get my braces off soon very here (potentially even next time I go, if everything looks good), and yet I haven't had to go through elastics. At all. I'm definitely not complaining; they sound horrible. I'm just ...

Re: My journey (expander, then braces)

So I wasn't going to post this month, because to be honest, I've been SO over braces lately. But I'm really excited after my appointment. Why? BECAUSE NEXT TIME I'M HAVING A POTENTIAL BRACE REMOVAL APPOINTMENT! Say what!? Yeah. I'm potentially getting my braces off if everything looks good to my ort...

Re: Need advice about bite forsus

I agree with Nozzelnut. That is a TERRIBLE idea! Your ortho can get away with using pliers to put the device on and off because he's trained. He's the one in charge of fixing your smile. If you do that, you will very more than likely end up breaking off brackets, damaging something (either braces wi...

Re: Bonded Retainer Questions - Please HELP!!

A permanent retainer is sometimes only glue/cemented onto so many teeth, so the teeth that do not have a wire cemented to the back of them could still shift. That's why people have to wear both types of retainers at the same exact time. Honestly I'd rather deal with remembering to put my retainers o...

Re: Just curious about everyone's treatment cost

For metal braces and my palatal expander, my cost was $6,200. This includes the cost of my bite splint for after braces (to help prevent my essix retainers from breaking). Supposedly the splint should be covered by insurance and is about $590. So my braces might just be $5,600ish. And I'll get a ref...

Re: Vertical Maxillary Excess - Is There a Non-Surgical Option?

Sorry, but I have to ask, why aren't you just setting up consultations with an ortho to see your options? You're 23, I think it's time you just take the initiative and meet with someone. I'm your age myself and I would NEVER ask for treatment plans from random strangers on the Internet that are not ...

Re: My journey (expander, then braces)

Omg my bottom tooth is almost into alignment already and I just had my appointment this morning.  Lol. I wish I had taken photos from yesterday of my bottom arch to compare it to how it is right now. Because the difference is absolutely INSANE guys! Super, super happy! :) Here's hop...

Re: My journey (expander, then braces)

My bottom tooth finally got hooked up to the wire!!! Yay! :) Already it's moving like crazy! So here's hoping things move swiftly. Both assistants I saw commented on how different my teeth look now from when I started. And they do. Only thing I'm really concerned about right now is that the tooth th...

Re: 1 year down!

I agree with that ^^^ 100%. That is definitely my least favourite part about this site. I've thought about asking Lynn to address it, but wasn't sure if I was just getting my knickers in a knot over nothing. It really bothers me to see people ask, "Do I need surgery?" "My doctor told me [this] but ...
