Re: Braces - US or UK?

I'm from the US and all the dental offices I know of have separate rooms for patients. The only ones that don't possibly would be large 'chain' dentistry places, but even then I think they do. I have never heard of a general dental office that is set up like an orthodontic office and you can very, v...

Re: Ready for debracing?

I'd be thrilled with results like that congratulations! Thank you! :) I am very pleased with how they've turned out. Seeing the comparison is pretty amazing. :) Your teeth look awesome. So much whiter and more level than mine. As I had a fair amount of wear to my teeth, my front teeth are uneven......

Re: Ready for debracing?

Perfect! I don't see anything that the ortho could do more and your midline is aligned to my eyes. Your right upper central incisor...what looks like a little chip from the before picture...how did your ortho fix that? My midline has eroded a slightly bit giving my midline this ^ look. Hahaha And a...

Ready for debracing?

I'm to that point where everyone gets near the end of their treatment where I am questioning if I'm 'ready.' I was told at my last appointment, I'm in the final stage and my next appointment is a possible debrace appointment (though it probably wont be). I'm personally SOOO happy about my results an...

Re: Do your second molars touch?

Sorry you won't be getting yours off next appointment. But it's worth extra time if you are dealing with bite issues. I'd try not to get too set on an August debrace date either, making those teeth fit properly could take a bit of time.

It will all be worth it.

Re: My journey (expander, then braces)

Your results are inspiring. I do hope that if you are not fully satisfied, that you don't rush to remove them. Wait until you are ready not when the ortho thinks your ready. It will be money well spent! Thank you! As I said in a previous post, I am very happy with them. I honestly can't see anythin...

Re: Do your second molars touch?

Featheryy1221, I can't believe an ortho would actually make a patient endure additional treatment simply because they want all their money. Mine doesn't seem concerned. After all, everyone signs a contract - so I guess technically if you don't pay, they can sue you. Anyways, I'm crossing my fingers...

Re: Do your second molars touch?

Thanks for your feedback. Yeah, I thought so. It doesn't make sense. I'll have to ask on Friday at my last adjustment. Featheryy1221, you're right - I was originally quoted December 2015, so I guess another couple months wouldn't be the end of the world. After all, I'm on an 18 month pay plan, so I...

Re: My journey (expander, then braces)

Thanks for sharing your story - your teeth and smile look amazing! I have to ask - did you notice changes in your overall face shape from your treatment? Thank you! :) I appreciate that! I think now I have slightly more noticeable cheekbones. My face has always been longer looking but now I think i...

Re: Do your second molars touch?

My second molars touch, but mine always have, even pre-braces. If I were in your position I would wait to get them off until they do. 2nd molars are used for grinding food and I imagine not having them touch would end up with your teeth that are touching getting worn down over the years. There's no ...

Hi Featheryy1221, Do you know why I can't see your pictures? It's saying I have no permission or something like that. Hello there. :) You have to become a full member by making between 8-10 posts before you can see photos. The number seems to vary for each user, but around 9 posts should do it. Hop...

Re: Adult Palatal expansion

Hi thorin, We seem to have the same problem n I'm new to this forum also. Can you please let me know if you went ahead with the palatial expander? Did your ortho sound confident that it would work or did they outline the possibility that it may not? I'm getting mine fitted next month and just reali...

Re: Does everyone get elastics?

Yeah, elastics are the rubber bands that people attach to hooks to correct their bite/midline/move teeth or whatever else they do. Haha. You'll see people with them in a lot, sometimes even in the beginning of treatment. I just haven't gotten any hooked brackets placed or rubber bands during my trea...
