Re: Food help

I can't even eat cottage cheese yet, 2.5 weeks in. I think it's my bite and the fact my teeth feel loose and I'm afraid to bite ANYTHING. So far my cuisine consists of: Cream of Wheat (with milk, sugar, and maybe some regular wheat germ, crunchy is too crunchy,) tapioca pudding (I swallow the tapioc...

Re: 32 and (soon to be in) bracers

Despite all the guilt trips, it's most likely genetics. One of my kids is almost 30 and has never had a cavity. The rest of us are swiss cheese.

Re: 42 and just got braces - oh what have I done :)

I'm also worried about a molar that is tipped. I keep telling myself this is a no-brainer and is going to get fixed? I'm afraid to offend the orthodonist by asking. I go through stages of being totally confident and totally worried.

Re: Newbie here!

I don't know the whole story, but if something truly wrong was done, complaining to the appropriate board or agency might save someone else a problem.

Re: braces and thumbsucking

Orthodontists are usually quite bright, so maybe he already figured it out and will have some way of helping with this down the road. Not an expert, but I was wondering if some type of splint for the hands might work, just until the habit is broken? You've already taken a huge step by going for the ...

Re: How many brackets have fallen off during your treatment?

2.5 weeks and all's well. My ortho must be in shock that I haven't called yet with a loose bracket with 25% crowns.

Re: Does anyone actually have traditional metal braces anymo

Tobilei, my ortho also said there would be no difference in treatment time between metal and clear. They were really pushing clear but I was too embarassed to tell them I had dreamed of braces for 40 years and all that time the braces in my mind were shiny bright silver things! I just kind of blushe...

My opinion is it would be a shame to pull four of those nice teeth!

Re: 32 and (soon to be in) bracers

You must have amazingly durable teeth to go so long without ever needing a dentist! I'm afraid I would have had nothing left to straighten if I had not seen a dentist in all that time. It's pretty standard for everyone here in the US to trudge to the dentist every 6 months starting at an early age, ...

Re: Braces Tomorrow! (14/03/13)

Crikey, one hour? I was supposed to be in for two and it was almost four due to all the crowns that needed special processes to afix the brackets. My braces have not been painful yet at this stage, but the teeth feel weird so I am still on soft, that is, virtually pureed food. I hope yours settle in...

LOL, what a small country... squirrel, relax! they do all the work. As far as products, I JUST started using a WaterPik and it is awesome. I took the great advice on here and got the Ultra. So I highly recommend that. No, in fact, I order you to get one if you don't have one already. :w...
